A long-term US military presence in Venezuela is a terrible idea.
An American mission in VZ would contribute nothing to our national security interests while arguably becoming a burden for mission personnel with Venezuela’s political volatility. A Waste of money.
The Trump administration is negotiating an agreement with Venezuela that would lay the foundation for a potential long-term US military presence in the country.
The State Department under Rubio is leading the talks on the military pact, known as a status of forces agreement, or SOFA.

All they had to do was GOVERN. Instead they created schemes to enrich themselves, and also to set up elaborate narratives to keep themselves in office. And the people the families they tore apart, the farmers harmed by BS policies people dying.
A Trump staffer admitted they squandered a generational opportunity—and couldn’t blame Democrats for it: “We took over and we just kind of fucking botched it.”
Reflecting on Trump’s 2024 coalition, the staffer added: “Those people might not ever vote again in their lives.”

BREAKING: Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk says that shortly after midnight, the Polish Border Guard reported suspicious activity along the Polish-Russian border.
Polish forces were immediately mobilized, successfully preventing an attempted provocation, Tusk said.
He added that Poland had received intelligence from its own and allied services warning of possible sabotage and provocations along the border in the first half of November.
Significant police, Border Guard and counterterrorism forces have been deployed over the past few days in response.

The value is getting an alert when a freezer fails overnight, before an entire store’s or warehouse’s inventory spoils. Monitoring temperatures across locations makes sense. Remote access still needs proper security. This is a security failure, not proof of purpose.
It is disheartening - how fissures within the republic have become motes. We’re losing the trust, functioning institutions, and shared sense of responsibility that hold a stable country together. The damage being done has consequences.
Options for Trump on Iran. Trump can negotiate, keep squeezing Iran, or resume major strikes. The midterms change his political incentives more than his military options.
Broader military campaign.
Try to cripple the government’s capabilities or threaten its survival.
If Republicans lose Congress, he does not immediately lose the ability to order strikes.

Don’t hold your breath. This reeks of pre-election bullshit. Trump is desperate for a headline, and “expected,” “preliminary,” and “potential” are doing a hell of a lot of work here. Show us an actual agreement.
A breakthrough has been reached in U.S.-Iran negotiations following Qatari-led mediation, Al-Araby Al-Jadeed reports, citing sources familiar with the talks.
A U.S. delegation is expected to join Iranian negotiators in Doha for direct talks after preliminary understandings were reached on Iran's nuclear program, navigation through the Strait of Hormuz and financial incentives for Iran, with China and Russia expected to serve as guarantors of a potential agreement.
