#sleep disturbances in this time of crisis? 💯% normal. Hyperarousal and vigilance push back against sleep drive. Your 🧠 is running every scenario to solve this problem. That’s your survival instinct. Don’t make temporary poor sleeping another source of #anxiety.

Love @BarstoolBigCat: "I don't get the hype about mouth tape." As well as the skepticism from @Philly_Mays on whether it actually helps with snoring. The evidence isn't there to support mouth taping, generally, and it can certainly can have serious consequences.

“Persons with narcolepsy are covered by the Americans with Disabilities Act. ” Would it be unprofessional of me to follow that line in my letter with “You should try googling it, asshole.”? 😡 Bout to go mama bear when you treat my patient that way.

With an inner struggle like insomnia, with no actual threat but only a perceived threat (wakefulness) - trying to escape reinforces the idea that we are in danger. In other words: Pursuing safety is the greatest risk. One of many, many paradoxes in our space.

Grateful to @Freed2Write for her article on obstructive sleep apnea in midlife women-as I said to Stacey, missing sleep-disordered breathing as a potential cause of insomnia in perimenopausal women is "suboptimal" #YouCanQuoteMeOnThat nextavenue.org/post-menopaus…
