Massive credit to Alphamine for getting this done
As of today, Alphapool no longer offers paid public stratumv1
This is a huge win for decentralization of bitcoin mining
XBT.AlphaPool.Tech has officially closed our Public Free-Trial DATUM Endpoints! 🎉
As of 10/16/26 12PM EDT any miners using the Pool Hosted Failover Public Endpoints pay a 25% >> 100% escalating fee (24hrs - 96hrs).
Miners who have not yet setup up their own nodes+DATUM will now be paying a 100% Fee donating the proceeds to the DATUM miners of the pool.
If you see the below message on your individual miner dashboard? You need to get your own node+DATUM setup right away!
Please see👉xbt.alphapool.tech/start and let me know if you have any questions or need support running your own node!

A pattern is emerging in the responses to CAPTURE: The Machine.
Joe Nakamoto: “Saved you a click. Old news.”
Now Jonathan Bier, CEO of Farside Investors, posting as @FarsideInsights: “TLDR. Already widely publicised.”
Same straw man. Same dismissal. Reduce an investigation to one already-public fact, then declare the entire thing old news.
But that's precisely the point of CAPTURE. The individual facts were often public. What matters is the picture that emerges when you put the editorial conflicts, disclosure failures, policy exemptions, financial arrangements, institutional relationships, and timelines together.
Break that picture back into isolated facts, and each becomes easier to dismiss.
Worth noting: Bier sits on Brink's board, administers Bitcoin developer grants, and personally answered questions for the CAPTURE investigation about Brink's internal governance.
He's not an outside observer of the institutional structures this series examines.
Don't trust. Verify.
CAPTURE Part 4: THE MACHINE
The fourth and final installment is out.
Bitcoin Magazine wasn’t just covering the fight over Bitcoin’s future. Its parent operated an Ordinals trading desk, invested in businesses tied to the ecosystem, and maintained editorial policies that exempted parts of that same business.
Then came an $80,000/month marketing contract, with an option for Nakamoto Inc. to buy BTC Inc at a valuation tied to its earnings, in a window that included the OP_RETURN fight. Nakamoto exercised the option.
Readers were not consistently told about these commercial relationships.
A documented investigation into the commercial interests and media infrastructure surrounding the Bitcoin Core controversy.

The Coldcard entropy exploit, the Trezor customer data hack, and the Ledger supply chain hack, all point to the obvious:
the spooks want your Bitcoin
Really, really bad.

Because, unlike Satoshi, modern Bitcoin builders fixated on wanting to build commercial legal entities with their fiat name, instead of pseudonymous FLOSS. Fundamentally broken model, to be avoided when possible.

Entering 99 dice rolls on a SeedSigner takes me 10–15 minutes. As much as I think dice rolls are the way to go, that's a lot of friction, especially for multisig.
So I built a dice scanner into SeedSigner: pack 100 dice into a grid, take one photo, check every roll. Takes about 2–3 min. Once the rolls are read, it uses the same seed generation code as entering them by hand.
I've proposed it to @SeedSigner as a pull request. Not merged yet, so not for real funds.

AI FUD is older than computers. In 1863, they warned that machines would enslave humanity. 163 years later, the machines can write poetry, diagnose cancer, and drive cars, all while the Doomers post their worries from an iPhone.

This is one of those takes that will age interestingly. Sacrificing fungibility for extra features feels short-sighted when Bitcoin’s core strength is being pure money. The real test is whether people still value that purity years from now. VOICE

I wasn't aware Curl had been working on this goal specifically. This is awesome to see in such a large, old and widely used codebase.

Heads up. @coinbase just denied me transfer of USDC to @NeoxaPortal I’ve been DCAing out Bitcoin and into XBT. I guess they are seeing a trend. They did allow me to convert USDC into cash and remove it to my bank account. Now
I have to open another crypto account.

It's kinda funny how supposed journalists like @JoeNakamoto and @natbrunell and @BitcoinMagazine had zero interest in covering the Andy Back Blockstream mining story over the past few months, even after they became aware of it from my videos. Bitcoin journalism deserves better
