His elder brother, who lives abroad, voluntarily gave my husband his own share of the inheritance. His younger brother, the medical doctor, did the same. Papa also had ₦10 million in his bank account, and the family agreed that my husband should use the money to establish a business. His elder brother went a step further and added some of his personal money. They prayed for us and blessed us. My husband and I broke down in tears. For once, they were tears of joy. As I write this, my husband has started an importation business. His elder brother has also connected him with people who are helping him understand the business and find his feet. To my wonderful in-laws, I don't take any of this for granted. Thank you for remembering us. Thank you for recognising your brother's sacrifices. Thank you for standing by us when you could have simply looked the other way. I celebrate you all. May God continue to bless you, prosper your homes and replenish everything you have given. You have reminded us that family can indeed be a blessing. God bless you all.

Please tell your friend that not everything you catch in the water is automatically food. This looks like a dolphin. Dolphins are mammals, and some species can have high amounts of a substance called mercury in their bodies because they feed on other water animals. Mercury exposure, particularly methylmercury, can damage the brain and nervous system. It is especially dangerous to pregnant women, unborn babies and young children. And it’s not just dolphins. Some large predatory fish, like sharks, swordfish, and marlin, can also contain high levels of mercury. This doesn’t mean you should stop eating fish. Fish is nutritious, and many species are safe to eat regularly. But you should know what you’re buying and eating. Not every animal deserves to be turned into soup. Abeg. We made a video on this recently: nitter.gq/aproko_doctor/status/2…
My hard working friend caught a dolphin in cross river today

We like to be reactive to things. As at 2025 over 60% of manufactures have left the grid. These are the category of users the grid actually needs, so pricing for households gets cheaper. The signs have been there. IPPs are springing up but around industrial clusters. NGMI.

When I got laid off from Microsoft, I got into a company in Lagos that felt paying 600k naira a month was doing me a favour. I had to take the offer to keep body and soul together. Was there for 6 months until I fell out with the MD and started looking out. That was when I started my training outfit but couldn't quite get traction. Anyway, after leaving this NGO, I spent another 5 months in the wilderness, literally. Ate rejections almost every other day. Was living on the goodwill of friends and relations. Basically wondering what to get out of life. An Antler rep came knocking at the time and was in the process of fast tracking my application to the Antler cohort at Kenya. Guess what? My passport had expired. Ran to go fast track my passport, after a few days emailed the partner but was told it was too late. I remember laying in my room laughing hysterically, mulling to myself, "who I offend?" Thankfully at that time, I applied to Andela and the process started for another 2 months. I got into Andela and my monthly salary was my previous annual salary. This trend continued in a subsequent company. Use am run one or two that year. But the point is, while I was enjoying this new reality, I asked myself, "why did you worry all those times?" In hindsight, there was no reason to. I should have just chilled for 5 months, enjoyed myself. But we are human and can only understand life in hindsight. As long as you believe this it will work out for you: EVERYTHING will turn out better than you expected, just stop worrying.
When it all works out, you'll be so pissed with yourself that you worried so much.

This is the job of a Senator….. Meanwhile in Nigeria, all you hear is “bow and go”. No serious attempt at scrutiny.
This is Jon Ossoff. He was just reelected as Senator of Georgia. 💙 He is also a future President of the United States. If you’re not convinced, just listen to him handle business. Ossoff does NOT fuck around.

🚨 Éder on Cristiano Ronaldo's retirement from international football: 🗣️ Éder: “People always say that without me, Cristiano Ronaldo wouldn't have a Euros trophy. But the truth is, without Cristiano, we wouldn't have reached that final in the first place. And there's something about that night in Paris that I will never forget. I wasn't one of the first names on the team sheet. I had barely played during the tournament, and I knew people had their doubts about me. But Cristiano never made me feel like I was just another player in the squad. I remember speaking to him before I came onto the pitch. He looked at me and told me I was going to score the winning goal. Imagine that. Cristiano Ronaldo, the captain of Portugal, looking you in the eyes and telling you that you're going to win the European Championship for your country. He gave me a kind of confidence I cannot properly explain. He made me believe that my moment was coming. Then, when I finally came on, I saw him on the touchline. He couldn't play anymore, but he was still fighting every second of that match. He was shouting, encouraging us and celebrating every little thing. I remember thinking that we couldn't let him down. When I scored, everything happened so quickly. I heard the noise, saw my teammates running towards me, and suddenly I realised what had just happened. But one of the first things I wanted to do was find Cristiano. I knew how much that trophy meant to him. I knew what he had gone through in 2004, how much criticism he had received, and how many years he had spent trying to give Portugal something special. That night, I scored the goal, but I never felt like I was the hero alone. That trophy belonged to every player who had fought for it, and especially to the captain who had given us the belief to finish the job. Now, hearing that he has decided to retire from international football, I keep thinking about that conversation. He told me I would score the winning goal, and I did. But he gave me something much bigger than that goal. He made me believe I could change the history of my country. I wish every young Portuguese player could experience what it means to share a dressing room with him. You learn that talent is important, but belief, sacrifice and the desire to keep going when everything is against you are just as important. Cristiano, you don't owe Portugal anything anymore. You've given us memories that will stay with us forever. And if people ever ask me what my greatest moment in football was, I'll tell them it was scoring that goal. But if they ask me who made me believe I could score it, I'll give them one name. Cristiano Ronaldo.”

Lol. You’re more likely to get a free haircut from your barber if he knows you’re getting married than get a markup in price. Smh.
If a barber charges 5X regular price because the groom was getting married, nobody would question that it's insane lmao

🚨 Pepe tears up explaining the feeling of playing behind Cristiano Ronaldo for Portugal: “I remember a game when we were under pressure and I cleared a ball without looking. It came straight back. “Cristiano turned round and said, ‘Pepe, give me something I can chase.’ “I said, ‘I’m trying to get us out.’ “He said, ‘Then give it to me.’ “I laughed afterwards because he was asking me to pick a pass while I had a striker trying to take my head off. But the next time I won it, I looked. He was already moving. I put it down the channel and suddenly their defenders were running towards their own goal. “That was a wonderful feeling as a centre-back. You’ve spent five minutes defending your box, shouting, getting your body in front of things, and then you hear the crowd because Cristiano has the ball. You can finally step up. You can breathe. “He gave me a lot of those breaths. “People will remember his goals against Sweden. I remember what it felt like at the other end when the match became difficult. You look up the pitch and he’s still making the run. You’re tired, he’s tired, everybody knows where the pass is going, and he still wants you to try it. “I used to ask him, ‘How do you know I can get it there?’ “He’d say, ‘You got it there before.’ “Sometimes that was all the encouragement you needed. He remembered the good pass you’d made, even when you were thinking about the last one you’d given away. “And then there was France in 2016. When he had to come off, I looked at him and knew how much it was hurting. We’d spoken about winning something for Portugal for so many years. Now we were in the final and he couldn’t stay on the pitch. “I remember thinking we had to give him a game he could bear to watch. “That became difficult as well, because every time you looked towards the touchline he was trying to come back on without actually coming back on. I thought, ‘Cristiano, please. We can only listen to one coach.’ “I kept thinking about what it would be like to walk back into that dressing room if we lost. You can tell your friend you gave everything, and he’ll believe you. But you also know he’d give anything to have been out there helping you. I wanted us to come back with something he could hold. “When Eder scored, I still had defending to do. People watching at home could jump up and celebrate. I was looking at the clock and trying to get everybody back where they needed to be. Every ball into our box felt like it had been in the air for a minute. “Then it was over. For once, I could look towards Cristiano without having to look straight back at the pitch. I’d spent years wanting him to get on the end of something. That night I just wanted to get over to him. “Even now, when I see the photographs, I remember how difficult it was to say anything properly. You start a sentence, somebody grabs you, then you see another teammate crying and you forget what you were trying to say. We’d imagined winning that trophy so many times. None of those conversations had prepared me for actually giving him a hug when it happened. “But when we lifted that trophy, I wanted him in the middle of everything. He’d helped get us to that night. And I knew the boy who’d wanted to win for Portugal was still there inside the man holding the cup. “Today somebody asked me what Portugal will miss most. There are so many football answers. The movement, the heading, the way he could turn a clearance into a chance. I’ll probably think of another one tomorrow. “Right now I’m thinking about the next time Portugal are defending a lead and somebody wins the ball near their own box. For years, before I even had it under control, I knew I’d hear him asking for it. “I’ll be watching from home. I think part of me will still look up to see where he’s running.”
