I’m a millennial we are cringe. We fell for Obama just because he was black, only for him to bomb seven countries. We fell for Bernie because he made false promises and pretended to be different than the rest of the establishment, only to turn around and enjoying the establishment. And somehow millennials keep falling for the same establishment tricks every 2 to 4 years. If anything, Gen Z is far less cringe and has a much better understanding of revolutionary politics than millennials have.
AOC: A note for Gen Z. If you want to understand millennial cringe, what you all call millennial cringe, this earnestness, imagine all the seats we flipped last night. That feeling, plus, on top of it, electing the first Black president ever. And on top of that, you did it the first time you ever voted. That hits generationally. You’ve been chasing that feeling ever since.
