I mostly agree with what you're saying, but I think "Hebrew Roots" has become pejorative shorthand for "everything I don't like" and I suspect that just pushes people further down that road. You know the meme of a cartoon figure pushing a moderate toward the radicals and then asking why the victim has become so radical? It's a lot like that. When I first came into the Torah movement, I knew two main labels: Hebrew Roots and Messianic Judaism. The fringe took labels like Netzarim. The vast majority of people who called themselves Hebrew Roots don't deny Paul or Yeshua, aren't sacred namers or flat earthers, don't teach circumcision for salvation, or any of the other things that are usually characterized as Hebrew Roots. People who have adopted an identity often have a compulsion to adopt whatever comes along with the identity. Now that Hebrew Roots has been painted by its detractors with everything "fringe" in the Torah movement, perfectly respectable "Hebrew Roots" people with mostly sound doctrine are unintentionally encouraged to become ever more fringe. I'm not a labels person, and I've never been much swayed by identity movements of any kind, but I see this pretty clearly in a lot of other people who are motivated differently. Maybe it's too late to stop that train, but I recommend warning against specific false doctrines, not against a broad identity that might encompass many of those beliefs, but also includes a lot of good.
