I will bite because there's no insult. I can agree with you that I know what I'm doing but you're either clueless or willingly ignorant to think that they don't know what they're doing because "could they have worded it better". I have worked in tech on different fronts. Product, cloud engineering, DevOps, community design. What you're looking at is classical product marketing. You don't know how long multiple departments spend to agree on a marketing line. Whatever you see is exactly how it was designed to be worded. ~ Put the actual value behind a paywall. It's not illegal. It's not bad. But it should be called for what it is - a business model which is okay. It is also the same tactic supermarkets use. If the actual price of product X is 50USD - Why not make it 500USD and give 90% discount? You get the gist? As long as you're not getting any value until you climb over that paywall with actual $$$, it's a business model.
You know what you’re doing, and it’s wrong. Could they have worded the acceptance fee better? Yes.scholarships are meant to provide aid, and not all scholarships are 100% fully funded. This one covers at least 90% of the fees. That’s still substantial financial assistance.

Real pain 😭 I wish someone told me this earlier. Learnt the hard way after events started disappearing.
You see this thing called transactional outbox pattern ? It will save you a lot while building a distributed systems.

Even the most optimized solutions have flaws
every architecture diagram is just a set of trade-offs tbh. Just design the trade-offs you can justify because lol, every decision solves one problem while potentially introducing another.

You are more likely to succeed with your startup if you don’t have Plan B , you would do everything possible in your power to make your startup a success. You gotta go all in and give it all you’ve got with so much intensity that reality has no choice but to bend to your will and give you the win that you deserve.

STELLAR!
JUST IN: U.S. Bank executes cross-border treasury transfer on Stellar The transaction used the bank’s dollar-denominated USBDC asset to move liquidity between corporate entities in North America and Europe, demonstrating near-instant settlement without relying on traditional correspondent banking rails.

Today, SDF joined @hedera, @AptosLabs, @AvaLabs, @Cardano_CF, and @chainlink in a letter to the SEC on the proposed Regulation Crypto Assets. The ask: make the 2026 Interpretation’s “digital commodity” classification into regulation. Durable rules begin with today’s clarity.

It’s crazy that it’s been only 28 days since Opus 5.5 dropped but it feels like ages. We are now used to getting a new frontier model almost every week.

There’s only one way to cure low self-esteem: gather much evidence that you’re who you think you are. To do that, you must be ready to fail a lot.

When I was writing Unreal Engine 1, my time was divided as follows: - Around 30% went to seriously deep coding on hard problems: assembly language texture mappers, C++ BSP trees, data persistence, object oriented systems design, and networking. - Around 70% was just typing and refactoring large bodies of code needed for a complete engine feature set. This was not hard, and while I was doing it my mind was mostly on the deeper coding topics, thinking and planning for what's next. It didn't feel much different from vibe coding today, except that it was just me typing code on an IBM Model M keyboard rather than prompting it and reviewing the results. So, it has always seemed perfectly logical that we would rely on AI for that 70%, once the AI could do it with a similar quality standard as we could, which has never been perfection. It came as no surprise that, after a few years of AI model evolution, it was able to take the reigns on that 70% and free up programmers' time for more valuable tasks. What's more of a surprise is the emergence of AI as a sort of insta-Carmack able to solve hard technical problems quite cleverly and often cleanly, and that it's able to reason about and work in complex 3D scenes both by operating the tools and by directly understanding the raw data files. I abandoned assembly language in 1998 when out-of-order CPUs made much simpler C/C++ code faster, and never I missed it. If prompting through architectural documents, concept art, and design plans can transcend typing code and tweaking vertices, that will enable developers to spend their time on higher-level, higher value technical and creative tasks. What matters is the end product, whether it's a game or an engine. Anything developers can do to try out more ideas and make better software and games faster is a win for everyone.
