I will bite because there's no insult.
I can agree with you that I know what I'm doing but you're either clueless or willingly ignorant to think that they don't know what they're doing because "could they have worded it better".
I have worked in tech on different fronts. Product, cloud engineering, DevOps, community design.
What you're looking at is classical product marketing.
You don't know how long multiple departments spend to agree on a marketing line.
Whatever you see is exactly how it was designed to be worded.
~ Put the actual value behind a paywall.
It's not illegal. It's not bad. But it should be called for what it is - a business model which is okay.
It is also the same tactic supermarkets use.
If the actual price of product X is 50USD - Why not make it 500USD and give 90% discount?
You get the gist?
As long as you're not getting any value until you climb over that paywall with actual $$$, it's a business model.
You know what you鈥檙e doing, and it鈥檚 wrong.
Could they have worded the acceptance fee better? Yes.scholarships are meant to provide aid, and not all scholarships are 100% fully funded. This one covers at least 90% of the fees.That鈥檚 still substantial financial assistance.
