Now I tell you, there’s a problem in the tech world.
If you’re just breaking into tech because you want a high-paying job, you need to think carefully about the future you’re preparing for.
AI is getting better at writing code, debugging and handling tasks that previously required developers. Companies are already rethinking how work gets done.
Imagine a future where one developer, with the help of AI agents, can do the work that previously required an entire team.
What happens to the rest?
I’m not saying software engineering will disappear tomorrow. But I believe the days when simply knowing how to write code was enough to secure a comfortable career are numbered.
Learn how systems work. Understand architecture, trade-offs, scalability and problem-solving. Learn to build products, not just features.
Because the real question is no longer just, “Can you write code?”
It’s becoming, “What value can you deliver that goes beyond writing code?”
Tech is changing. And if you’re just getting started, you need to understand that!

I will bite because there's no insult.
I can agree with you that I know what I'm doing but you're either clueless or willingly ignorant to think that they don't know what they're doing because "could they have worded it better".
I have worked in tech on different fronts. Product, cloud engineering, DevOps, community design.
What you're looking at is classical product marketing.
You don't know how long multiple departments spend to agree on a marketing line.
Whatever you see is exactly how it was designed to be worded.
~ Put the actual value behind a paywall.
It's not illegal. It's not bad. But it should be called for what it is - a business model which is okay.
It is also the same tactic supermarkets use.
If the actual price of product X is 50USD - Why not make it 500USD and give 90% discount?
You get the gist?
As long as you're not getting any value until you climb over that paywall with actual $$$, it's a business model.
You know what you’re doing, and it’s wrong.
Could they have worded the acceptance fee better? Yes.scholarships are meant to provide aid, and not all scholarships are 100% fully funded. This one covers at least 90% of the fees. That’s still substantial financial assistance.
