NEW: Minnesota House Democrats have elected Rep. Samantha Sencer-Mura as their majority whip, one of the highest-ranking positions in the legislature.
She is endorsed by the Twin Cities Democratic Socialists of America. In its platform, the Twin Cities DSA calls for tax increases, an end to Thanksgiving, dismantling the "racist, toxic highway system," public ownership of utility companies, and a "world without prisons and armed policing."
"Replace the police with an elected force of neighbors," their platform says.

Brooklyn Park Robbery
At approximately 11:20 a.m. on November 5th, 2026, a Brooklyn Park police officer received a report of a robbery that had just occurred.
The victims reported that they were walking in the 7500 block of Regent Avenue North when a suspect approached them, demanded money, and lifted his shirt to display a handgun.
The suspect took the victims’ valuables and fled. He was last seen traveling westbound in the 7500 block of Imperial Drive North. Patrol officers searched the area but were unable to locate him.
During the initial investigation, officers located security footage showing the suspect. He was described as a thin-built African American male wearing a light gray graphic hooded sweatshirt, a blue backpack, black jeans, and white sneakers.
The investigation remains ongoing.

His criminal history includes aggravated assault, aggravated trafficking of cocaine, burglary, larceny, and resisting an officer.

Saint Paul Police Investigating Homicide in Dayton's Bluff Neighborhood
Shortly after 7 a.m. on November 6, officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Mounds Boulevard following multiple 911 reports of a two-vehicle crash. One of the vehicles had struck a tree.
The adult male driver of the vehicle that struck the tree was found inside
suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
Officers and Saint Paul Fire medics responded to the scene and pronounced the male deceased.
Officers secured the area, and members of the Homicide Unit are investigating the circumstances that led to the shooting. Prior to the crash, witnesses reported hearing what they believed were gunshots in the area.
The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy to positively identify the victim and determine the exact cause and manner of death. This information, along with any additional updates, will be released through the Saint Paul Police Department’s Facebook and X accounts.

This is Saint Paul’s 16th homicide of 2026.
