Since August’s Jones Act waiver extension, 28% of voyages in U.S. waters are linked to China, including COSCO.
American capacity exists. American crews are ready. Every voyage handed to a COSCO ship is another blow to America's national security and maritime dominance.

The Political Jones Act Waiver doesn't impact just one class of vessel. It's about the future of American maritime investment.
The longer the waiver continues, the greater the risk to US shipyards and an irreplaceable workforce of American citizens. 🇺🇸⚓️

The Senate has an opportunity to stand with American mariners.
The House has already passed H.J. Res. 213, challenging EPA’s authorization of California’s Commercial Harbor Craft regulations. The resolution now awaits Senate action.
Our industry is committed to environmental progress, but regulations must be achievable, safe and grounded in operational reality.
Senators: support H.J. Res. 213. Protect American maritime jobs and the vessels and mariners that keep our economy moving.

The political Jones Act waiver promised relief. Who’s actually benefiting?
David St. Amand explains how refiners and energy traders are making billions from high refining margins while failing to pass supposed savings from using foreign ships on to consumers.

While the @USNavy and @USCG left the Persian Gulf before February 28, they left five U.S.-flagged merchant ships behind.
Two of them were escorted out, but one, MV Maersk Yorktown, was recently recognized for its service in the Persian Gulf for @CENTCOM and @DeptofWar.

The Jones Act isn’t what’s driving prices at the pump. The numbers make that clear.
On the latest @AMPmaritime Podcast, maritime and energy expert David St. Amand breaks down the data behind the Jones Act waiver and says Jones Act transportation costs amount to less than one-tenth of a cent per gallon nationwide.
So who really benefits from the waiver? And what does it mean for investment in American vessels, American mariners, and our maritime industrial base?

The Coast Guard has ordered an immediate review of Chinese state-owned COSCO vessels’ eligibility for a program that reduces port inspections, @Politico reports. This action comes after Chairman @RepMoolenaar, @RepRickCrawford, and @RepCarlos sent a letter to @DHSGov raising these concerns.
Granting a Chinese military company fewer inspections at American ports should not be allowed. Thank you @DHSGov for taking action.

If a foreign shipping company poses a potential counterintelligence threat, should its vessels receive fewer inspections in U.S. ports?
Congressional leaders are calling on @DHSgov to revoke special privileges for COSCO vessels following reports alleging the Chinese state-owned shipping company’s vessels used concealed equipment to collect information related to U.S. military communications technology off our coast.
The message is clear: America must take seriously the risks associated with foreign-controlled vessels operating in and around our waters.
That same principle should guide U.S. maritime policy. National security means strengthening American maritime capacity, supporting American mariners, and reducing our dependence on foreign shipping.
A strong American maritime industry is a national security asset.
