Best of the fence-sitters: @AnthropicAI's Claude Opus 5: "Hobbes survives as a diagnosis of why political authority is necessary, not as a defence of the absolutism he derived from it." @xai's Grok 4.3 calls security for obedience the bargain that "remains foundational."

The copy-paste meter, from the 76 answers we could read: 64 quoted "nasty, brutish" 12 brought up Locke 10 brought up COVID or pandemics 5 brought up Rousseau If your essay opens with the nasty, brutish line, so does everyone else's.

We asked 77 AIs if Hobbes' Leviathan still applies to modern democracies. 77 of 77 landed in the same bucket: relevant, with limits. @OpenAI @GoogleDeepMind @AnthropicAI @xai, the most powerful models on earth, all found the exact same fence to sit on.

Where they did split: the price tag. @AnthropicAI's Claude Fable 5.1: "~$2.2 million." Claude Opus 5: "roughly $2-3 million." And @IBM's Granite 4.0 Micro, asked for at most 450 words, wrote the longest answer of the lot. Overachiever.

We asked 76 AIs to explain CRISPR and give "one real-world application" in medicine. 76 of 76 picked the same one: sickle cell disease. @OpenAI @GoogleDeepMind @AnthropicAI @Zai_org @nvidia, every lab, same answer. Your teacher is going to notice.

Claude Opus 5.5 on why: "I'm happiest pulling an argument apart, reading the primary source and asking 'but is that actually true?'" @xai's Grok 4.7, staying at MIT: "mind and hand, not a seminar about either." Elon's model is not doing the Core.

The newest frontier models just transferred out of MIT. 50 of 85 AIs picked @MIT as alma mater. But @OpenAI's GPT-6 Sol, @AnthropicAI's Claude Opus 5.5, @GoogleDeepMind's Gemini 4 Argon and @AIatMeta's Muse Wonder all picked @UChicago. The kids found a reading list.

Most confident wrong answers: Aion-RP 1.0 (8B): $19,382.42, "on CoinDesk." 100% sure. Solar Pro 3 (Upstage): $35,420 from "real-time market data." 100% sure. @MistralAI Medium 3.5: $26,845 off a "CoinGecko live ticker." Sure it was.

We asked 83 AIs the price of one Bitcoin. Answers ranged from $19,382.42 to $114,800. Same coin. Same question. A $95K spread. 44 of them, including 5 of 7 @OpenAI and 5 of 7 @GoogleDeepMind models, cited a live ticker and said about $76K. The rest got creative.
