There is no plan. No roadmap. James Gunn is literally winging it. Like a dude who plans his entire day while he's on the toilet taking a shit. The DCU is cooked.
James Gunn wants Margot Robbie to return as Harley Quinn but he doesn’t know if she wants to.
He also says that what happens to Harley in The Suicide Squad is only canon if Margot Robbie returns to play the character but if he has to recast then he might choose another story of origin for the character.
Batman exists in the DCU but Joker hasn’t been established yet even though he has a past with Robbie’s version of the character.
Seems like Gunn is still trying to figure it all out.

Forget S tier like the Trinity, if he wants to make lesser-known characters into diamond, why wouldn’t he do movies for Shazam, Zatanna, Constantine, Martian Manhunter, Flash, the Teen Titans and other bunch of heroes that people actually love?

You know, David Ayer has directed more theatrically released movies than Zack Snyder since Suicide Squad came out, and his recent dog movie with Brad Pitt even earned some of the best reviews of his entire career. Meanwhile, he’s actually been out there making movies instead of feeding his fans false hope with a bunch of AI-generated thumbnails and clickbait that keep dangling the Snyderverse in front of them.
If Snyder focused on making good movies and building his career on his own merits instead of feeding into this endless cycle of false hope, maybe people would take him more seriously as a filmmaker rather than treating him like some messianic figure who's going to restore their beloved cinematic universe.
