A protest near a house in Petropavlovska Borshchivka, near Kyiv, where the National Guard of Ukraine and the Territorial Recruitment Center (TRC) are allegedly holding and torturing deserting soldiers and men mobilized by the TRC, extorting ransom from some families, has escalated into clashes.
Protesters are attempting to break through the fence and are smashing the windows of a police bus. Representatives of the authorities and the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have reportedly opened fire on the protesters.
The attempts to storm the building began after it was revealed that only four people (the most seriously injured, including one with a broken spine) were taken out of the "torture house."

🇺🇦 Azov corps tied to "unofficial prison" near Kiev, 14-year-old found in basement
The National Guard's 1st Azov Corps has effectively acknowledged running the site near Kiev, according to Ukrainian outlet Strana, which says this follows from the corps' own statement.
The corps says four soldiers detained for "disciplinary offenses" had injuries and were sent to hospital for examination. It adds that if illegal violence is established at the site, those responsible will face "just punishment."
Kirill Budanov, head of Zelensky's office, also arrived at the scene. "I came here to figure out what the f*** is going on," he said.
Budanov then spoke to a minor found in the basement, who said he was 14.
He has since told protesters to go home, saying there are "no more hostages in the house."

In France, today it's jazz.
Incidentally, the musical piece was chosen quite deliberately. "Oh, Bella, ciao!" is a partisan anthem from World War II.

🇫🇷 France is getting weirder by the hour.
In the same city, dealing with the unrest, dozens of people gathered at the foot of the Eiffel Tower for Halloween and performed the Thriller dance.
The contrast is brutal.

🚨🇵🇱 THE POLAND SITUATION. A BREAKDOWN:
How Poland ended up in a constitutional crisis with police at its highest court.
1. What started this?
Prime Minister Donald Tusk wants to reverse the judicial changes introduced under the previous PiS government, which he says compromised the independence of Poland’s courts.
A December 2025 EU court ruling strengthened his case, finding serious violations of judicial independence at the Constitutional Tribunal.
2. Why is President Nawrocki fighting back?
Nawrocki and PiS argue that Tusk is going beyond judicial reform and attempting to bring the courts under his own government's control.
The two sides are also fighting over judicial appointments, leaving the Constitutional Tribunal effectively paralysed.
3. What happened on Friday?
Tribunal president Bogdan Święczkowski was reportedly suspended, triggering protests and a police deployment at the court in Warsaw.
Nawrocki immediately abandoned his trip to Senegal and headed back to Poland.
Święczkowski's camp rejected the suspension as illegal, while PiS politicians accused the government of attempting a coup.
4. Why is this such a serious confrontation?
Poland now has two competing claims to constitutional legitimacy.
Tusk argues he is restoring judicial independence after years of political interference.
Nawrocki and PiS insist the government is violating the very constitutional order it claims to defend.
The central problem: Both sides claim to be protecting Poland's Constitution, while fundamentally disagreeing over who has the legal authority to act.

🇵🇱 For everyone asking what's happening in Poland tonight, here are the key points:
1. The Constitutional Tribunal's leadership has been challenged.
Judge Anna Korwin-Piotrowska issued orders suspending Tribunal President Bogdan Święczkowski and Vice-President Bartłomiej Sochański from their duties for one month. She claims authority to take over the Tribunal's leadership as its most senior judge.
2. Why did she do this?
Korwin-Piotrowska accuses the existing leadership of obstructing the work of judges elected by the current parliamentary majority, violating judicial procedures and preventing the proper functioning of the Tribunal. She also raised concerns about the court's 2027 budget.
3. The Tribunal rejects the orders.
Its existing leadership says the official website was illegally taken over and insists that Święczkowski remains president. The legality of Korwin-Piotrowska's decisions is disputed.
4. Police entered the building.
Following the announcement, demonstrators gathered outside the Tribunal. Tensions escalated, with some people reportedly climbing over the fence and throwing objects at police officers. Police intervened and several people were detained.
5. Why is this Tribunal so important?
The Constitutional Tribunal determines whether laws and other legal acts comply with Poland's Constitution. Its decisions can affect legislation, government actions and the country's entire legal system. Control over its leadership therefore has major constitutional and political significance.
6. This conflict has been building for months.
Prime Minister Donald Tusk's government and President Karol Nawrocki have been locked in a dispute over the Tribunal's composition. Nawrocki refused to swear in three judges elected by parliament, while the Tribunal's existing leadership refused to allow judges appointed by the current parliamentary majority to take their seats.
Tusk's government does not recognise the Tribunal's legitimacy and has refused to publish some of its rulings, citing controversial judicial appointments made under the previous PiS government.
7. Political reactions are escalating.
PiS leader Jarosław Kaczyński called on President Nawrocki to intervene, accusing Tusk's government of turning Poland into a police state. Nawrocki cancelled his trip to Senegal and announced that he is returning to Poland.
Tusk, meanwhile, says restoring the rule of law is a difficult but necessary process.
The situation is still developing. Both sides dispute the legality of the actions taken, and the legal authority behind the latest orders remains unresolved.
Poland is now facing one of its most serious institutional confrontations in recent years. What happens next will depend on whether the two sides can resolve this dispute through legal and constitutional channels or whether the standoff escalates further. For now, Warsaw remains at the centre of a crisis that could have far-reaching consequences for the country's institutions and political future.

🚨 UN commission finds Israel continuing genocide in Gaza despite ceasefire, committing crimes against humanity of extermination in the West Bank
Israel continues to commit genocidal acts in Gaza with the intent to destroy Palestinians "in whole or in part," even after the "so-called" October 2025 ceasefire, according to the fifth report of the UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry to the General Assembly.
Main findings:
▪️ At least 1,431 Palestinians killed in Gaza since the ceasefire, as Israel's expanding territorial control endangers those approaching the Yellow Line
▪️ Israeli military operations and settler violence in the West Bank form a widespread, systematic attack on civilians, carried out as state policy and amounting to extermination, torture and rape
▪️ Lethal force rules apply only to Palestinians, amounting to persecution based on nationality, race and ethnicity
▪️ Operations since January 2025 caused the largest West Bank displacement since 1967, with 34,176 still displaced as of August
▪️ Palestinian children deliberately killed and injured, constituting age-based persecution
▪️ Rape and sexual violence used as a tactic of war, including against Global Sumud Flotilla participants
▪️ An Israeli soldier deliberately killed Turkish-American activist Ayşenur Eygi
Over 75,000 Palestinians have been killed across the occupied territory since October 2023, including at least 21,500 children. The commission links the killings to a decades-long policy of seizing "maximum land" with "minimum population."

Bolsonaro won the first round 47.03% to 45.16%.
