In the UK people over 60 get a free bus pass, but can't use it before 9.30am. A older man got on the bus at 9.20am but his pass didn't work. He said he was going to meet his wife from the hospital, but would wait for the next bus instead... I nearly cried

How depressing that it’s impossible to have anything nice anymore. Canaletto’s painting this morning by the canal in London, covered in red spray paint applied by someone devoid of talent, brains and culture.

Tell me…why DO MPs get highly subsidised meals on their massive salaries? How many other workers get this perk? Not many these days, I’m sure.
Leek and Potato soup £1.50? no not a tin, freshly prepared in the House of Commons! Baked jacket potato £1.50 with cheese an extra £1. Why don't they cut their own benefits? they are quick enough to try and target the sick, disabled and elderly.

One hundred years ago in 1925 women finally won the fight to have their own, single sex swimming pond on Hampstead Heath. Please can we have it back now?

I showed the full advert to my family without giving them any prior info. Responses were - the kids behave horribly, are spoilt & rude - i don't understand what she bought, what's the actual product? - why didn't they bring stuff with them? Why did JL not do a basic focus group?

It is an entirely reasonable expectation for women to expect an area behind a sign saying "women only, no men allowed" be single sex
Replying to @tribunaltweets
DS the ponds have been TI for more than a decade, no woman can reasonably expect this to be a same sex space. It is a wholly unreasonable expectation, give that this is a cause celebre. Particular disadvantage must be experienced by the entire class, and the individual

Exactly this 👇🏼 & very true. Not one trans swimmer turned up at the first World Cup event in Germany a few years ago including no Lea (will) Thomas. What they want is women’s stuff, not just to be included! Which they always have been
This! 👇Remember that World Aquatics spent a year creating a third category. Not one trans person showed up. If all ponds go officially mixed sex, the trans-identifying men won’t go bc what they want is the women’s pond.

it's wild to hear the same people say: - sports aren't important - there aren't that many trans girls so the impact is small - but trans girls will kill themselves if they can't play on the girls team like, it just isn't a coherent set of beliefs

I just think that nothing says "human rights cause of our lifetime" like harassing children out of attending their own film premiere.
🚨🚨Arabella Stanton and the other child stars of HBO's 'HARRY POTTER'' series will NOT attend the premiere amid fears of protests. (Source: independent.co.uk/arts-enter…)

Trans identifying men are not excluded from the ponds. They have a choice of two ponds! It is without doubt and the law of our land, to allow and protect single sex female spaces.
Trans-exclusionary policies fail on every measure. The benefit from promoting a worthy social goal must be proportional to the harm caused to the group or individuals discriminated against by the policy. Generally, policies that discriminate against already vulnerable or stigmatised social groups, even if they are necessary and effective in service of a worthy social goal, will fail to be sufficiently proportional. Appeal to the small size of a group will not suffice, either: the proportionality test is not a utilitarian calculus whereby a large group can benefit greatly at the expense of a few. Trans women are a heavily stigmatised and marginalised group, particularly trans women of colour. And since the benefits to society of discriminatory policies that further harm an already marginalized, stigmatised group tend not to be proportional, excluding trans people fails the proportionality test. The harm to trans people caused by excluding them from the ponds is not proportional to any proposed benefit to (cis) women or men.

The irony being that, if it is changed to mixed sex, the transvestites won't want to use it. There's a mixed pond that they can use already but they refuse. The are insistent that they have to use the Ladies Pond. They are hateful, despicable, and destructive

Yes, it's the purpose of their charity. But you can set up a charity to do whatever you like.
Of all the issues facing women today, this is the one that Sex Matters want to spend copious amounts of time and money on? Utterly ridiculous.

“If I can’t have you, no-one will” is an especially unpretty side of this era’s new twist on men’s rights activism.
Dan Stillitz for the City of London just said in court that if the City has to provide the women and men's ponds as single sex ponds the likely upshot is that it won't provide separate sex ponds at all.

Helen Whatley MP spends every day bashing disabled people online and calling them scroungers. She has claimed for almost £2,000,000 on expenses since 2015. £300,000 of this are for her own travel and accommodation etc, yet she lives 50 miles from London.
