8th Draft of The Gun complete. 1st 11 chapters attached. Chapter 7 had a full re-write.
Lots of new stuff added to the rest of the novel. Really pleased with how it's looking. This has been a real labour of love since November.
Enjoy! Or not π

Thanks to @AlisonW37619617 for kindly sending Evie a Halti harness and training lead. Folk are so kind and we truly appreciate it π₯°

The system itself is creating an incentive for landlords to profit from the housing crisis.
If a landlord can get Β£600 a month renting a house privately, but can get Β£1,600 a month or more by putting that same property into temporary accommodation or converting to a HMOβ¦.what do we think is going to happen?
And for much of this the taxpayer picks up the bill.
Itβs not just HMOs landlords are ENCOURAGED to profiteer from, itβs temporary accommodation in general and some of it is in utterly shocking conditions. Families in desperation are being put in houses we would not accept living in ourselves.
The Housing Executive and Department for Communities need to answer how this is happening on their watch.
First - who is checking the quality of the properties, secondly why isnβt there a cap on what can be paid for each property, linked to average local rental prices and the condition of the accommodation?
Nobody is saying landlords shouldnβt make a fair return.
But taxpayers should not be funding excessive profits.
The current system appears to reward landlords for exploiting a housing crisis β while the Housing Executive signs the cheques and the Department for Communities does nothing to fix the problem.
The taxpayer is funding this negligence and mismanagement while local families and communities pay the price.
This is how I try to help Evie when it is quiet and just the two of us. She is helping me more, I think!!
Evie's seat on the sofa is clearly marked. She starts out there but slowly makes her way down to me π

Dogs are magical. Pure, unconditional love emits from them. My sister said they are angels in fur coats.
Probably not, Andrew. Cooking at home is fun. From what I have seen, cooking in a professional kitchen is hell.
However, I could do a food truck, or similar? Working for myself? That might work π

These two dunderheads are my MLA's. I didn't vote for them. They are apocalyptically useless π«‘
In 2022, you made history by electing 2 cross-community MLAs and rejecting the politics of division in East Antrim.
Since then, Danny & Stewart have been working hard to to build a build a better, brighter, shared future for all.
Vote @stewartcdickson & @DannyDonnelly1 next May
Remember those swedish style meatballs from @homebargains ?
They are great.
And this IKEA style swedish gravy goes perfectly with them and the buttery mashed potato.
Roast veg on the side.
I have never had IKEA meatballs and gravy so nothing to compare.
We all loved it though!

From experience, the dulcet tones of our jibber jabber is a world wide knicker soaker ;)
Breakfast time. My wife took Evie out for a walk and I heard Evie having a gentle cry downstairs so went down and she settled.
I think she doesn't like Ziggy going out without her.
She sat with me but wouldn't eat her food until he came home and started his.
I am noticing her getting more confident eating.
Very important for Evie to have a late night garden visit as she does not fit through Ziggy's dog flap π
Most Beloved Wife is away for an early night so I am on Evie duty.
Just need to lift her off the sofa at bedtime so she can do her biz.
She is one of the family now. She always was, she just hadn't realised it π
It's bloody brilliant π€£

This is how you do a Christmas advert. Brilliant fun and absolutely zero preaching.
