Earlier this week Tristan published his top YouTube channels:
thume.ca/2026/11/01/youtube-β¦
Which looked excellent so clearly I had to turn it into TristanTube:
karpathy.ai/tristan-tube/
47K super nerdy videos +TV mode for laid back watching. (One-shotted with Claude Code in 3 minutes)
Weekend hack: HackerTube. I was annoyed with YouTube's recommendations so I had Claude filter down 43M comments over 20 years of HN to 6,454 videos that keep being recommended. *Significantly* better viewing experience, ~2 hours with Opus 5.5:
hackertube.org/
- Excellent recs without any logins (state is kept in local browser session)
- Thumbnail is a representative frame from middle of the video instead of the super duper A/B test hyper-optimized user uploads
- Underlying data from the comment analysis as one zip file, point your Claude at it and ask for your own version
- HackerTube Longs β
A bit more on the process:
I use Claude Code (desktop app for Mac), Opus 5.5 on Medium effort as my default. I only talk to Claude and have it do everything, the only "manual work" I helped with in tandem was in the browser (reminiscent of MenuGen): 1) I had to create some kind of API key from Google Cloud UI to query YouTube for video metadata, 2) I booted up a VPS box for serving and 3) I bought the domain name. Once the box was up I gave Claude the IP and told it update, secure, harden, deploy and optimize the code, and it did the whole thing.
Many awesome projects that would have normally taken weeks/months even can now be few-shotted for breakfast. What else are we not thinking of.

imagine what a PM working at YouTube is thinking
can't product managers do things like this literally daily?

the reason labs are holding back powerful internal models is because they donβt want to give up their rsi advantage
it has nothing to do with safety
if they worry about a control issue, they would pace internal progress
can we call this out please. thanks.
I will publish my full list of 10,000+ blocked AI spammer accounts soon so everyone can block them easily tooo
If you write AI replies under my tweets you will now permanently destroy your X account
Because you'll very quickly end up in a public data set of AI spammers that people will use to block them
Better turn those AI reply bots off today
I will collect all accounts I blocked for AI spam recently and submit them to @dillon_mulroy's list too
I will also send my entire list to @X staff so they can suspend the accounts
If you post AI replies under my tweets I will now go nuclear on you
Only way to keep this platform usable

You open your inbox at 8:12.
Same threads as yesterday.
Thereβs a question for you.
In a long email (probably written by AI).
The request is buried somewhere in the middle of the chain, along with the docs and the back-and-forth.
π₯Ή
Instead of pulling it out and rewriting the whole thing into a prompt, you just hit CC .
This is where tools are thinking out of the box, not all tools but Fryd is onto something here.
Problem solved, add [email protected] with one line
The thread is already the brief.
Other tools help you reply.
He does the work the emails are asking for.
Just email it.

You have to reach the point where your fear of dying mediocre outweighs your fear of looking like an idiot. The first version of anything you do will be embarrassing, that should be obvious, but too many people let that thought keep them the same for decades on end.
Banks arguably has the best vision for the future
In Ian Banks' Culture books, the Culture is a civilization of compute abundance. Each General System Vehicle is a loose sandbox environment practicing different ideologies, and citizens freely move between ships to experience different lifestyles.
Want communal life? There's a ship. Ultra-orthodox religion? Another. Beach chilling? One famous for its beaches.
With enormous compute, you don't need to trade off who decides the trajectories. Just launch another docker station for another rollout. In that world, your autonomy is backed by the compute.

Jeremy has been using Thine since our early beta days and it's great to read this coming from him.
Looks like we made it to the same guest list as OpenAI Dots, Claude Duet, Hark, Slashy, Instinct, Muse, and many more :p

OAI unlocking growth loops for their whole ecosystem. Watch for it.
lots of news breaking these days so I may as well sneak mine in if anyone cares and share that I recently joined @OpenAI π«‘
my time at Anthropic was a fever dream in the best way possible. got to help build the growth function, work alongside some really really talented people, and tackle some of the most challenging problems of my career.
incredibly grateful for the experience and excited for whatβs ahead. also in case you were wondering, Ant has better coffee/drinks and OAI has better snacks.
Xpicker2 retweeted
well this backfired. it looks like the anthropic ipo is faltering due to mouthwatering losses that are not sustainable given their revenue. particularly when the majority of it comes from spacexai, a direct competitor that will pull the plug shortly.
meanwhile, after numerous fable 5.5 delays iβve now confirmed exclusively that openai will drop their frontier model tomorrow
stay tuned for more on this
in the strawberyman and this is your ai news.
