theres a great cost to being to being an epic gun chungus and its being ignored by the VA after killing some innocent people in a foreign country
The "Call of Duty" movie based on "Modern Warfare" will not feel like a superhero film because the story is about "the cost of war and having to be a warrior." “If you really look at the missions and the storylines and the characters like Captain Price, Soap, Ghost and Alex, these are complicated humans. These are not, and no disrespect, cartoon characters or comic books," says director Peter Berg. "These are very nuanced storylines; there’s a real soul to the ‘Modern Warfare’ universe. Yes, there’s violence and hardware and equipment and killing. But underneath it, I think the game, and the creators of the game, are really looking at the cost of war, the cost of having to be a warrior who’s, for whatever reason, chosen to put himself between real danger and the rest of us, and the burden that these guys carry.” variety.com/2026/film/news/c…

if you take nothing else from this history lesson just remember that a butch should always be ready to bust in there
because everyone forgot it was traditionally that the femme did SW and the butch took care of her before, after, and sometimes during (hanging out nearby ready to bust in there if anything went sideways)
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
No sources support the claim that this was a “traditional” arrangement or anything like a common occurrence. A relationship like this does appear in Leslie Feinberg’s 1993 novel Stone Butch Blues, which is a work of fiction. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stone_But…

Everyone needs to stop baselessly speculating on who this is it'll only make things worse. As members of the public there's Little in Britain we can do to expose someone who's famous for supposedly having Got Talent
Celebrity claims he will 'kill himself' if allegations of 'inappropriate and exploitative sexual activities with a large number of girls and young women' are published, High Court hears trib.al/yMsblvU

re: "Woman Is The..." to be fair There Was An Attempt tho obviously it comes off hopelessly ignorant at best nowadays, but interesting how many posts discussing it mention "the n word", a euphemism taken for granted now, but not adopted until 20+ years after that song was written

good that language evolves but we really shouldn't pretend we're actually intellectually past the argument that misogyny and antiblackness can be simplistically equated when the alternative a lot of people want to posit is that no oppressed group has anything in common w/ another

EXCLUSIVE: Taylor Swift's team demanded her wedding decor be burned to the ground, according to a source. 'They didn't want people to steal it and then auction it or sell it so they just burned it all,' an insider told me. My latest @DailyMail scoop here:dailymail.com/tvshowbiz/arti…

Coming out of forgotten island my 4y/o decided to say the tagline from the movie combined with a date from one of the trailers culminating in "dont forget, September 11th"

too late, i have already depicted myself as 6 orderly barn owls and you as 4 shambolic kestrels
Its the poorest year for owls this year, due to lack of food, and I have ringed only a hundred of each of Barn Owls and Kestrels. So a big surprise on the Humber Bank to find 6 Barn Owl and 4 Kestrel chicks in the same nestbox ...and with uneaten prey items too!

At Cornell I met a student adjacent to the lefty/music scene who was building an autonomous drone startup. Asked him about it and he assured me it was just for search and rescue/disaster response. Earlier this year he sold it to a defense firm. They always sell to defense.
Purdue University's IDEAS Lab built an autonomous drone that tracks runners through dense forests completely without GPS or cloud networks. By running 3D LiDAR mapping and obstacle-avoidance AI entirely on-chip, it can weave under tree canopies and predict target movement through blind spots in real time. Massive implications for next-gen search & rescue and edge AI.
