I've done it AGAIN, and this time I'm releasing TWO new SAGE-EXL3 quantizations of the brand-new MiniMax M3.1 Flash!
428B total parameters.
23B active.
Native 1M-token context capability.
My goal was simple:

And the fidelity measurements are some of my most exciting yet! ๐คฏ

That's exceptionally close to the unquantized reference in my held-out token-level evaluation.
Both releases were measured against the original unquantized MiniMax checkpoint using full-vocabulary teacher-forced evaluation.
These are quantization-fidelity measurements, not task pass rates or proof of mathematically lossless behavior.
But THESE are the kinds of quality-per-bit results I'm chasing!

It's the inference engine.
My current ONE-SPARK vLLM recipe WORKS, but it's still a WORK IN PROGRESS.
The measured configuration currently reaches 32K context using a quantized KV cache.
MiniMax M3.1 Flash supports up to 1M native context, but vLLM's memory overhead on this hardware is consuming headroom I'd rather dedicate to the model and its context.
I could shrink the weights further to compensate.
That's the wrong trade-off for what I'm trying to accomplish.
I'm optimizing for the BEST possible balance between model quality, memory usage and practical inference speed.
And that's where something else I've been building comes in...
โก ๐ฅ๐๐ซ๐๐ฏ.
Our upcoming public inference engine and dedicated recipe are aimed at removing these limitations and making the model's full native context practical on Spark.
We're continuing to validate that work before release.

Here's where I'd love some help from the community!
The 4.26 bpw model is already available on Hugging Face, but I haven't had the time to properly build and validate its TWO-SPARK serving recipe.
If you have two DGX Sparks and experience with distributed inference, I'd LOVE to collaborate!
Fork my GitHub recipe.
Experiment.
Submit a PR with your improvements and measurements.

I want these releases to push the quality-per-bit frontier for EXL3, while making it easier for the community to reproduce and extend the inference results.

So basically, today PHP got two critical bugs that let anyone run code on your server without even logging in, which is bad, and then the details leaked before the patch was even out, which is worse, and it works on WordPress and MediaWiki and Magento and Joomla and Laravel, and Censys says like 1.5 million servers are running a version with no fix, so the NSA was like "take your system offline," and the FBI was like "take your system offline," and CISA and the UK and CERT-EU were all like "take your system offline," and then the Prime Minister of Japan, the actual Prime Minister, posted at 5:55 in the morning telling 48.8 million people to take their system offline, so everyone took their system offline, like the Dutch cybersecurity agency took its own website offline, and the Dutch parliament went offline, and the Port of Rotterdam went offline, and Finland and France and Denmark started pulling government sites, and Wikipedia went down, and Archive.org went down, and Asana and GOG and Something Awful went down, and the University of Vienna's webmail went down for some reason, and that's just PHP. Because GitLab also dropped a CVSS 10.0, which is the highest score they give out, for a bug that's been there since 2014, so that's every self-hosted GitLab for twelve years, and then LiteLLM 1.107.0 got hijacked and shipped a credential stealer and a remote access trojan in every single wheel and the Docker images, including latest, and you didn't even have to import it, just installing it was enough, and it's the second time this year, and then Railway paused every deployment on the entire platform because someone got into the environment variables, so now everyone has to rotate every secret they've ever stored there, and TiDB Cloud said someone was walking around inside with stolen credentials for basically a month and an extortion group says they took 10.6 terabytes, and Zeabur got breached for the second time in two months and is just shutting down, like the whole company, and Node.js patched remote code execution and a TLS bypass, and CISA says Plex is being actively exploited, and someone took over 300 Tor exit relays to steal SSH passwords, and SafePay ransomware has hit over 600 critical infrastructure orgs, and India's biggest bank filed a data loss incident, and Japan has been in an official state of emergency in cyberspace since October 9, which honestly explains the 5:55 AM post. Oh, and eMudhra, a certificate authority that's issued over 60 million certificates, whose entire job is proving websites are who they say they are, was supposed to be using private keys that are random numbers over a hundred digits long, and one of them was 4. Just 4. And the others were like 66 and 237. Anyway, it's Wednesday.

I hate to be the one to burst the Wright brothers bubble today, but the spectacular โflightโ we witnessed at Kitty Hawk needs a little context. The Flyer is carrying around 274kg of wood, fabric and wire, plus the weight of the 12-hp engine, propellers and pilot needed to keep it aloft.
Based on the published figures, that gives it roughly 12 seconds of maximum flight before it settles back into the sand.
In short, itโs a gimmick.

If youโre really with it ur conversational partner can use completely the wrong words or literally make words up nd u will still get what theyโre saying bc of context clues & logical progression. And if im lucky enuf2 speak with a rly smart person I barely have to talk at at all
The probability of finding a substantially better โsingle Sparkโ daily driver in the next 12 months is high.

If you get addicted to things easily, good, your problem is aim. Point that same obsession at a skill, your body, or your work for 2 years and people will start calling you "disciplined" instead.
NVIDIA is facing a pincer attack from Apple and China. Apple is advancing from the B2C side. China is advancing from the B2B side, coming for the AI infrastructure. In a pincer attack, you weaken the arms before they close. The Hugging Face acquisition looks like exactly that.

tl;dr - the new Mac is VERY fast across the board for low concurrency, but scales horribly to higher concurrency on both models at this point.
Making great headway on the Mac so far, have had clankers on it since the moment I turned it on, benchmarked all inference engines and quants of Qwen 3.8 Flash and GLM 5.3 Flash for a solid baseline and am having them work on improved kernels for both models, already seeing massive improvements.
Initial findings confirm oMLX is the best engine right now for this, which is what Iโm basing my optimization work around at this point.
