Through the first year a staggering 6,060 $ORA were released into circulation everyday through mining. After the first halving that number was reduced to 3,030 mined daily. Then reduced again to 1,515 after the second halving.
Now that we have just celebrated the third halving, only 757 $ORA are available to be mined per day. Inflation is at all time lows, and only going lower with each halving. This is where things get interesting. 🍊

The cautious view projected by the @AlgoFoundation @AlgoNode_io and other main players in the Algorand ecosystem about the immutable ORA contract is understandable.
ORA contract has been used as a decentralized throughput testing tool on mainnet and that is always a bit scary for the stewards of the network.
On the other hand the real main function of this immutable contract is to Fund the Algorand Network fee sink for its validators and development proposals in the most lean way and rewarding the Funders for doing so through $ORA rebate which could be either insta dumped by the funder or treated as a Store of Value.

Like Bitcoin there is no dev team, there was no presale, no airdrop, and no insiders waiting to dump on retail. Every $ORA in circulation was mined fairly, or purchased on the free market.
