There is no worse war than two symmetrical adversaries waging war against each other. This is why Europe has been frothing at the mouth about aiding Ukraine. It guaranteed a terrible, bloody war. The deaths of an entire generation of humans in both countries were a sacrifice they were willing to make. In fact, that was the point. Whether its to simply kill Russia, take pieces of Ukraine as compensation, or access Russian resources, the end result was gain. So they shook their fists, painted Ukrainian aid as moral virtue, and condemned anyone who disagreed. Who cares about a few million dead when there is profit to be had, be it political or financial.
