This morning, a passenger attempted to board the moving Kanyakumari–Dibrugarh Express at Cuttack railway station. He slipped from the train’s steps and came perilously close to being crushed between the platform edge and the train’s wheels.
In a heart-stopping moment, Constable Tulu Behera of @OdishaPolice displayed extraordinary alertness and presence of mind. Along with the help of a few others, he pulled the passenger to safety, rescuing him from near-certain death.

The arrest of Sharmistha Panoli, a 19-year-old law student from Pune, for alleged derogatory remarks about Islam in a now-deleted video has sparked intense debate. Her words, made in response to a Pakistani troll post the Pahalgam terror attack, were misguided and wrong. However, Sharmistha issued an unconditional apology, expressing regret and a commitment to be more cautious. This should have closed the matter.
No one should face death or rape threats for their words, no matter how offensive. Such threats are a grave assault on humanity and must be condemned unequivocally.
