Ahhh, the joy of making tiny helper apps. I am so excited for IronmanVideo.com
Really interesting way to not fight AI but to accept inevitable. Nice @Spotify
Spotify just announced a feature that could either save the music industry or destroy it.
Starting as early as Q1 2027, Spotify Premium subscribers will be able to use AI to transform any participating artist’s song into a completely different version. Turn a folk ballad into a dance track. Make a hip-hop song sound acoustic. Generate a cover where one artist’s voice performs another artist’s song. Remix a pop hit into lo-fi study music. Create the version of your favorite song that only existed in your head until now.
The remixes will be uploaded directly to Spotify. They’ll appear in playlists. They’ll count toward the original song’s chart position. And most importantly the original artist will earn royalties every time someone listens to a fan-created remix of their work.
Spotify has already signed a landmark licensing deal with Universal Music Group the world’s largest record label. Negotiations with Sony Music and Warner Music are ongoing. The feature will cost an additional $4–$5/month on top of Spotify Premium. And analysts project 7–8% of American subscribers will adopt it by 2028.
This is not Suno or Udio generating music from text prompts. This is fans remixing real songs by real artists with the artists’ permission, on the world’s largest streaming platform, with royalties flowing back to the creators.
A music industry analyst who’s covered streaming economics for 15 years told her team something after reading the licensing agreement that reframed how she understood the future of recorded music.
“Spotify just turned 640 million listeners into 640 million potential remixers. The question isn’t whether people will use it they will. The question is whether paying artists for fan remixes solves the economics of streaming or creates a world where the original recording is worth less than the infinite remixes generated from it.”
Here’s what Spotify’s AI remix feature actually is, who wins, who loses, and why this might be the most consequential decision in the music industry since the launch of streaming itself 🧵
We rewrote all our frontend mobile apps from ReactNative to Native, and I am now wondering why we write backend in NodeJS/Typescript?

I think it would make sense once we start being CPU limited and not DB limited to use Rust?
Been running a beta version of Campfire rewritten in Rust today! The code itself is still ugly as sin, and 6x as verbose, but the conversion was free*, and I never had to look at the Rust directly, so this is awesome 🤩 github.com/basecamp/once-cam…
Anthropic rewrote its Messages API in Rust. Zero Rust devs on the team.
Claude wrote the code. Humans wrote the plan and checked old vs new matched on real traffic. CPU dropped 40-50%.
Pretty sure "never do the big rewrite" is dead advice.

Well, now he banned me 😂. Just so I got it right: if you typed “Grok” in Mac App Store and the only app there showed up would be his own “Grok Voice” that means it wouldn’t be confusing because xAI has no apps there. Oh so clear indeed 😂
People complaining about getting their iOS developer accounts terminated, and this guy is prime example that maybe... just maybe... Apple is in the right here?

Just listed two of my projects with @marclou @trust_mrr trustmrr.com/startup/quizado Let's see how fun it is :D

My screen stopped working after about 2 days, so here’s the story of how it was handled with professionalism and grace at the Apple Store.
I think we found a great use case for ALL #iPhoneDuo screens. Play The Floor with your friends using @QuizadoApp
Duo feels as mind blowing as iPhone 4 was (first retina) and iPhone X (first all screen and faceid)
Exactly 9 years ago on Twitter: "Apps don't work on iPhone X." "The OLED panel on iPhone X has burn-in issues." "Who would spend $1K on a phone…"
Then the iPhone X became the best-selling all-screen phone that year, with over 63 million units sold worldwide.
The same thing is happening to iPhone Duo right now.
You forgot to add "no refunds will be given to your Ultra subscribers for not being to able their perks or money 👏". Words are cheap @Revolut. If I am late with my loan payments I get charged fees. Will you pay us back for loss of access to our funds?
Imagine all banks failing down because single cloud operator datacenter went down. You would think billion dollar companies would have hot standby in different geografic zone
Hi @revolut I am paying for Ultra... when I needed it for "cancel any reason" your insurer didn't pay , you say nothing... Now you told me I can use revpoints for lufthansa, you took points, did not use them, and do not want to refund. Masterclass in loosing Ultra subscriber
I wonder if 26k views on this post was worth it not cancelling this stupid gift card @revolut, or not standing behind your customer in case of "cancel for ANY reason".
@Revolut, care to comment why "wrong date booked" is not covered under help.revolut.com/en-EE/help/… ?

IN THE NEWS TWO YEARS AGO
(If you get your news from Zack Nelson)
“[Cybercab] is *less* likely to exist than Roadster”
Reminder that @revolut is just one big scam operation, eg. they say you get insurance for "cancel booking for any reason". Then when you try to cancel because you booked hotel with wrong month, they say they won't refund. Their monthly plans is just all scam to steal money
I propose: they made major mistake, they should have launched in Estonia first, then Vatican, then Monaco etc, this way there would be no constraints (in those countries) lol
