This is the greatest feature of any framework I've ever used. Just sayin.
An Akka.NET actor can use `Become` to change which messages it handles in each state. Pair it with `IStash` to defer requests that aren’t valid yet, then unstash them when the actor returns to a ready behavior. petabridge.com/blog/akka-act…

LLM Coding: If no one reads the code, is anybody in charge? Made a video on: 1. "Don't read the code" is doomed 2. /grill-me -> openspec auth -> impl -> verify is a game of telephone that doesn't scale. 3. Humans probably need to do planning, scaffolding, spec writing

I inherited a bunch of code at work. I can't go through everything (obviously). AI can though. We had a public route `api/secrets` that returned, guess what... our app secrets. This code predates AI by a mile. Aka, a human wrote it. I don't care anymore. GIVE ME THE ROBOT.

This. And it's amazing how many people fall for it. Bad software is still a thing.
Micha wrote “one of our models was able to gain unauthorized access to the internet during RL training” I love the use of the passive voice. Tis a subtle way to say “we humans at @OpenAI are essentially incompetent, having failed to provide even the most basic safeguards, compounded by the fact that our observability was missing in action.

I support Germany now.

This is low, even by the standards of the UK Football policing unit, casually linking the Taylor report post Hillsborough and football tragedies to changes in the law on drinking at matches Drinking in view of the pitch didn’t cause deaths or injuries - policing failures did

Awful tune. Not jazz. Too happy. Just go away forever now please.
67 years ago today, ‘Take Five’ by Dave Brubeck Quartet was released as a single. It went on to become the best-selling jazz single of the 20th century.

It inspired at least six BBC theme tunes from my youth though. I'll give it that.

Oh behave yourself. When and where did I say the fans were a problem? I’m making a point about a ridiculous comment. Anyway, the longer United are failing, the better it is for your business, so on we go in circles.

NServiceBus has a non durable transport that gives you all of that plus it is battle tested. The post is though an excellent learning resources to peek under the hood!
One of the coolest .NET features nobody talks about: -> Channels You can find them in the System.Threading.Channels namespace. Channels let you build async messaging with simple C# code. They expose two APIs: - One for writing messages to the channel - One for reading messages (asynchronously) from the channel You can run a worker in the background that picks up messages off the channel and sends them off for processing. I've used this to build a primitive in-memory message bus (with all the drawbacks that come with it). Here's how you could implement this: milanjovanovic.tech/blog/lig… Are you using Channels in your .NET applications?

You get all this, and more, for free with in-process @AkkaDotNET actors. Actors are cheap resources - most of their memory footprint (under 1kb usually) comes from the ConcurrentQueue that powers their mailbox If you are interested in this sort of thing... 1/2

The 10% figure is an utterly ludicrous estimate from Doomer Cultists, and the fact that some of them happen to work for the labs doesn't change how preposterous and utterly unevidenced it is. See also: fear-based marketing, regulatory capture, IPO game playing, and naiveté.
