Pay attention before it's too late.
This is the future Democrats want for America - this is what we're fighting to prevent.

.@NewmanSociety has released its 2026–27 #NewmanGuide, with 71 more recommendations than last year.
But not #NotreDame.
Notre Dame can be found in the Guide's FAQ, with an explanation why it has never been recommended:
"At the time there were faithful professors and students on campus (and there still are). But there were also clear examples of opposition to the faith from many on campus. In order to resolve our dilemma, we spoke with the late Dr. Charles Rice, a faithful Catholic and long-time law professor at Notre Dame. He helped us find the bottom line. He said that at Notre Dame, 'a kid who is struggling with his faith will sink like a stone.'"
There are, of course, remarkable exceptions -- like @alexathallow, whose own struggle with faith eventually led to the creation of @HallowApp. But that doesn't diminish Charlie's warning.
Notre Dame can be an extraordinary place for students who are sure-footed in their Catholic faith. For those looking for a thoroughly Catholic academic experience, the #NewmanGuide is a tremendous resource.

If you want to know what's happening in France, and why it is happening, @MontbrialAvocat is one of the very best accounts to follow. He's the chief prosecutor in Islamist terror cases there, & has had to live under 24/7 armed guard for 10 years. He knows his stuff.

Tell me again how this is about “students”?

The West is burning down. Islam is making inroads so quickly that few can comprehend what's happening. Wokism is still running amok, transgenderism is destroying lives, and abortion rates are high. Catholic "culture" is a mess, at best, and immorality is rampant.
But the real concern is the St. Michael prayer.
Satire cannot even touch this sort of stuff.
Our local bishop is banning the St Michael prayer from the end of Mass.
His article, in the local Catholic paper, explains that in order to celebrate the liturgy “in accordance with the mind of the Church” priests need to “catechize the people of God as we move away from additional prayers recited together immediately before, during, and immediately after Mass.”

Most people believe that feminism is simply a movement about helping women or giving them rights.
Feminism is really about power and control through...
1 Destroying the Christian Faith and the Family
2 Silencing Men
3 Bubble wrapping women against the vulnerability that comes with family
4 Emphasizing female autonomy over all else
5 Inciting fear in those who don't adhere to the ideology
6 Projecting onto women an impeachable victimhood status

WATCH: Britain’s ITN has released ~4 hours of previously sealed 1989 Tiananmen footage — filmed by the team that smuggled the tapes out of China.
The material, archived for ~35 years, includes a 2-hour crackdown compilation and 90 minutes of secretly filmed raw rushes from the days after, showing military trucks on Beijing streets, crowds, and the aftermath.

A fine example of a decree that can have no legal force, because it is premised on several factual errors.
1. The practice of "versus populum" was not "restored," because the original and authentic tradition was "ad orientem"; it's not like that was a deviation that had to be corrected.
2. As numerous authors have explained, the Latin of no. 299 of the GIRM does NOT mean that Mass must be celebrated toward the people whenever possible. It means the altar should be freestanding so that it can be incensed all around, and so that Mass *may* be celebrated versus populum. Just do a search for GIRM 299 at Fr. Z's site and you'll get the nitty-gritty.
3. Most importantly, a bishop's local law cannot trump universal law, and the universal law clearly allows (indeed, presupposes) Mass ad orientem. For the same reason, a local bishop cannot mandate communion in the hand, when communion on the tongue is still permitted, indeed is the universal norm.

More martyrs for marriage the same century as St. Thomas More but this time on the coast of Georgia: Five Franciscans were massacred for objecting to the Catholic native chief's decision to practice polygamy.
