Elon’s making bad decisions for users because he made a bad deal for Twitter.
He has a *personal* loan against Tesla’s shares associated with the buyout of twitter.
It’s a floating rate loan of $12.5 billion at SOFR + 3%.
In the last year his interest expense went from $500M to almost $1 billion.
Every month he pays $80 million out of his own pocket.
And on top of that Twitter has another $13 billion of debt on its balance sheet which costs $100 million a month, this time paid for by the company.
Too much leverage leads to desperate decision making.
