For the color curious, and anyone looking to get into a serious chromatic argument here are the palettes😁 It’s not simply that the new Harry Potter (2026) looks “less colorful.” In these comparisons, the older films (2001) often separate colors more strongly with warm stone against green grass, scarlet robes against snow, lavender and peach against dark wood. The newer footage leans more toward browns, greys, muted greens and darker reds. The colors are still there, but they often sit closer together in saturation and value. That may be why it feels flatter before it even feels darker.
