Hey SwiftUI devs!
Here is a 🆕 Flow Layout implementation that leverages the latest SwiftUI Layout protocol.
It comes with a number of configurable properties: Direction↔️, V/H spacing 📐, and V/H alignment 🧷.

We got your back, New York!
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Several figures here aren’t federal results or NY-specific. The $472B combines US wide pledges: Micron's $250B is nationwide (NY site $100B) Anthropic's $50B covers TX and NY. The 48% murder drop is from NY's state run GIVE program (28 departments, Jan – May 2026).

This is the most nonsensical product Apple has ever announced. Why not sell a stand for iPads and update the software to allow for the features shown?
They’re deliberately gating a highly requested feature (multi-accounts for iPad) behind a new device purchase that no one needs.
Is SiriAI powered by Apple Intelligence or is it the other way around?
Marketing-wise, it seems convoluted.
Were restaurants ever at risk by the introduction of the microwave? 🤔
I’m really trying to pretend this is true so RC doesn’t get steamrolled, but the more I think about it, the less I buy it.
1. Historically, the production of many types of goods have decreased dramatically in complexity and it didn’t transition to everyone just building it themselves. When electric tools were invented, did everyone transition to making their own furniture? Did the word processor end the book industry? Did the camera end the art industry? None of these quite match what we’re seeing but I haven’t found a case where humans have de-specialized.
2. Most consumers are exactly that, consumers. They are much lower agency than your average software person, probably lower creativity, and aren’t going to start building their own novel solutions to problems all of a sudden. Perhaps the models get so good they can do it somewhat transparently, but that would still require dictating requirements to the models, which itself is not something most consumers will be great at. And part of making “good” software is being opinionated. Models, due to the efforts of alignment, are limited in what they can say no to. The user asks for something that makes the software worse? “You’re absolutely right!” I’m not sure that taste and alignment are fully compatible.
3. Nothing ever happens. I think software will evolve, and what was a successful app three years ago will be very different three years from now, but it just doesn’t seem likely that after 10,000 years of increasing specialization and craftsmanship, humans will just resort to self reliance all of sudden. We want the expert opinion of other humans. We are interested in novel tools and experiences. Software products often bring with them community and identity that won’t go away. I just think an amplified version of the current trajectory more plausible than a complete reversal.
Tell me why I’m wrong!
Apple’s classic “running to the press never helps”, except it always does.
The real fortress is your bank account.
The “I have bad news for you” framing reads kind of smug. You can be excited about AI without treating people’s fears about their livelihoods as a gotcha.
Not everyone has the cushion to experience disruption as an exciting experiment.

Italian efficiency when it comes to coffee should be studied.
In Italy:
- Walk into a bar and look at the guy
- Un caffe
- 30 seconds later it’s ready
- Shoot it
- Leave €1
- Walk out
In the US:
- Join a line
- Wait
- Order coffee
- Answer 12 questions: Size? Milk? Roast? Sugar? Temperature? Colombia beans? Name? How do you spell it?
- $12.34
- Ask for a 20% tip. Click 5 times on a ipad to have a custom tip
- Tap phone
- ask where to send the invoice
- Wait again on a different line
- Someone call a name that sounds similar to mine
- get the coffee
- too hot, can't drink it
- finally at temperature
taste like shit
New post: SwiftUI’s default stack spacing is bad API design.

One thing The Witcher 3 understood is that fantasy worlds need texture, not just detail. The world in W3 felt worn down by poverty, weather, war, and time.
Crimson Desert, by contrast, looks like a vapid and sterile showroom version of medieval life. 6/10 game.
