It is not just our leaders, but our citizens as well, who have the capacity to reflect for themselves on when it might be appropriate to make a particular call, whether such a call should be made at all, and so on. I have participated in many EU meetings where this topic was discussed. There are varying opinions across Europe regarding how—and with whom—contacts should be maintained, on what grounds, and under what mandate. Naturally, there are compelling arguments to be made both for and against. But the most important point is that the position held not only by the Nordic countries, but by Europe as a whole, remains exceptionally firm. We continue to support Ukraine and increase pressure on Russia. We are currently working on the next package of sanctions. I have proposed the introduction of visa restrictions for Russian tourists visiting European countries. We should not allow Russians to come and vacation on European beaches. That must not be permitted.’
