One of the worst moments in my life was when my family saw Her and hated it, because they were so wrong but there was nothing I could do.

Last night saw some of the greatest progressive victories in modern American history. All across the country, in rural and urban areas, Americans said NO to oligarchy, and YES to an agenda that fights for the working class. Congratulations to the following candidates: U.S. SENATE Abdul El-Sayed (MI) Peggy Flanagan (MN) Troy Jackson (ME) U.S. HOUSE Bob Brooks (PA-7) Rebecca Cooke (WI-3) Sam Forstag (MT-1) Adam Hamawy (NJ-12) Melat Kiros (CO-1) Brad Lander (NY-10) Will Lawrence (MI-7) Donavan McKinney (MI-13) Brian Poindexter (OH-7) Analilia Mejía (NJ-11) Claire Valdez (NY-07) Randy Villegas (CA-22) Aisha Wahab (CA-14)

They shot people in the street @RepJeffries
Hakeem Jeffries on Morning Joe: The American people don't want us to get even. They want us to get things done on their behalf because life is way too expensive. We ran on affordability, we won on affordability, and now it's our job to govern on affordability.

I am so happy that Bernie Sanders is with us today to be able to see the fruits of his labor. He cultivated a whole generation of young leaders through the movement he spawned who are now winning seats everywhere. And he gets to live to witness it. Thank you, Bernie.

90% of why everything feels like it’s gotten worse than it was 20 years ago is summed up in the idea that it’s unfair to tax a hardworking, everyday American who owns a $5 million brownstone in a state they don’t live in.
With all due respect that’s literally a textbook defenition of a pied et terre

Thats a horribly inefficient waste of time. You probably end up spending close to 5 hours just in grocery stores every week if you do this (nevermind the extra hours spent walking there and back as well), when you add up shopping+waiting in line. I'd rather just do 2-3 weeks worth of shopping at once in <2hours, drive my groceries right to my front door, and then not have to go to a store again for a few weeks There's a reason no one who gets a license ever uses public transit or walks anywhere ever again if they dont have to - its way worse in every way. Society should be more accommodating to cars, not less. Bike lanes for example, should be illegal

Unbelievable that Mamdani has gotten flak for skipping a parade that Smotrich—who is proudly overseeing the West Bank’s ethnic cleansing and annexation—and Eliyahu—who suggested nuking Gaza and bombing humanitarian aid—are marching in.

This is a hard article to read, but I hope you'll do so. I've spent some time reporting on widespread rape and other sexual violence of Palestinian male and female prisoners by Israeli authorities, and the article is now published. The assault victims were warned not to give speak of what they endured -- they were sometimes told they would be killed or raped if they gave interviews -- but they found the courage to do so. One man described being raped three times in a single day in Israeli prison, the third time after he tried to protest. A young woman said the guards would come in at the beginning of each shift and strip her naked and abuse her. Another reported that she was shown photos of herself being raped and warned they would be released unless she cooperated with Israeli intelligence. Even three children who had been detained told me they had been sexually abused. Look, whatever our position on the Middle East, we should be able to agree on being anti-rape. Sexual assaults were horrific when Israeli women were targeted on Oct. 7, and they're equally horrific when Israeli authorities use them against Palestinians day after day after day. We should be able to find common ground in opposing rape. Here's a gift link to the article: nytimes.com/2026/05/11/opini…

this article really changed my mind. the tax should be $10

This is a threat of genocide and merits removal from office. The President’s mental faculties are collapsing and cannot be trusted. To every individual in the President’s chain of command: You have a duty to refuse illegal orders. That includes carrying out this threat.

Passover has long been my favorite Jewish holiday. But I’ve always struggled with the Tenth Plague — and now more than ever. So for this year’s Haggadah, we added a midrash from Exodus Rabbah about Israelite parents who welcomed firstborn Egyptian kids into their homes on that fateful night. For Mahmoud Khalil, this past year has been marked by profound hardship—and by profound courage. A year ago, Mahmoud was walking home through our city after sharing an iftar with his wife Noor when he was detained by federal agents, flown to Louisiana, and then held in an ICE facility for months. In that time, he was forced to miss the birth of his first child. All of this for exercising his First Amendment rights in protesting the ongoing genocide in Palestine. And yet, even in the face of that cruelty, there has also been beauty. New Yorkers raising their voices in solidarity. A city refusing to look away. Mahmoud won his freedom, and a father was finally reunited with his child. Last night, as we marked the one year anniversary of his detention, Rama and I were honored to welcome Mahmoud, Noor, and their son Deen to Gracie Mansion to break our fast together. Mahmoud is a New Yorker, and he belongs in New York City.
