We shouldn't, of course, have this kind of money in politics as a matter of principle. But isn't the evidence pretty solid that it doesn't do that much? Why do so many people on the left talk like it directly dictates election outcomes?

Okay everyone said they were posting dick and home if Texas won….where is it?
As a native Texan, I didn’t even let myself hope for one Senate win, much less the spectacular collapse of the entire one-party dictatorship

Our latest @OffCSPod gave me the opportunity to actually read through Edmund White's THE JOY OF GAY SEX from cover to cover. And it's...really good! Some of the illustrations are beautiful and hot, the writing is creative, and it's smart about gay politics and culture.

NEW EPISODE: We're kicking off a new (occasional) series on Gay Therapy Slop, and we're getting started with what is probably the best gay self-help book of all time: THE JOY OF GAY SEX (1977).

Our latest episode of @OffCSPod looks at Harvey Milk's brand of pragmatic populism and how Randy Shilts interpreted it as an alternative both to Democratic Party insiderism and to ineffectual gay left posturing. christopherstreetmag.com/gay…

Our new episode of @OffCSPod is actually a collab with @dan_oppenheimer, so in the spirit of his show we try to map out the state of gay intellectual life, where today's gay writers are located, what's missing, and what we're trying to do with the pod.

fun fact: Derrida wasnt even supposed to be at the 1966 Johns Hopkins conference. He was working as a janitor on campus and would enter classrooms off hours to put various words under erasure. Rene Girard noticed this and encouraged Derrida to invent poststructuralism that night

Hard to think of a better advertisement for fascism than telling people GLP-1 drugs are fascist
🚨 Da’Shaun L. Harrison at Socialism 2026 argues that the political deployment of GLP-1 drugs is “fascistic” because they exist in “a world fixated on genociding fat people.”
“The political deployment of GLP-1s is fascistic, not because individuals take them, but because the conditions under which they become necessary are shaped by a world fixated on genociding fat people.”
And to explain why that is supposedly fascistic, Harrison turns to Frantz Fanon and “Black flesh under colonial surveillance.”
If GLP-1s are already “body fascism,” the dual and triple agonists are going to require an entirely new theoretical vocabulary.
