my mate who works in the royal mint told me about this astonishing feature on the new £50 notes and we've been avidly waiting for a king charles fifty to test it out - today we got one and can confirm that it does indeed work

Why is the life-saving helicopter funded by charity, but the royal's helicopter is funded by the taxpayer?
David Beckham and Prince William celebrating you raising £15m for the London Air Ambulance Charity as if they did it. Either of them could have done it with their pocket change.

Ah yes… Many people don’t realise that any reputable wine merchant should take it back. If it’s clearly corked, the age doesn’t matter to me either. As long as they brought it from us. So it helps to have an account or long term relationships.

I am so sick of under performing expensive a$$ wines that are ruined or corked by terrible and archaic closures: one thing makes me more aggro though, the simpletons who rally for such crap to stay in wines that are deemed ‘serious’ y’all are not serious ! Readjust expectations
If you don’t understand why all wine should be under stelvin, i cannot help you but you need to read a book and get a palate.

I’ve nicked this - in a limited and specific way - because it’s a work of heartbreaking genius and I think it deserves to go viral. 😉 #LiarJohnson #JailJohnson

Here is my work-in-progress list of the world’s highest vineyards (in meters asl) starting with Switzerland (1090m). Does anybody have documented evidence of corrections or additions?

Wine Twitter help, RT please! I remember someone posting stats about grape variety %s planted through the decades, showing a significant loss in diversity of plantings in France, but I cannot seem to find it... anything like that v much appreciated!

WhatsApp from a Master of Wine on Wed. “You’re not made for a career in wine PR. The appropriate phrase is ‘Conditions were challenging, and yields smaller than we would have liked, but the wines we did make show excellent balance and good levels of freshness.’ Friday’s Times 🤔

This is the "Caligula" of bad articles. It’s an article so bad that it leaves you marvelling at how it ever came to be. I need a separate article about how it was commissioned, written and edited. xitter.cf/guardiang2/status/1836…

I open up a Word document labeled "Draft2" and crack my knuckles. I write one sentence and add a footnote that says, simply, eloquently, "ADD REFERENCE". I am a Scholar™️.

Collecting my reserved books at the library: They're under the name Marriott. Librarian: Oh, like the author! Me: Huh? Librarian: You know, the author - Zoë Marriott! Me, blankly: This... has never happened to me before. Librarian: All right. Can I have your library card?
