just discovered this AI Agency LARP funnel that goes from IG to LI to Skool, involving three separate (top) creators on each of those platforms the sophistication of the con is oceans eleven level honestly impressive

tbh Duet is the first glimpse at the future of AI consolidating all the ridiculous menus into 3 buttons all i ever needed was Chat, Tasks, and Make expecting this to just be 1 button next year

Co-sign all this As someone with a lot to say and mid/decent editing chops it would take me 2 hours to edit 90s of video (sourcing b-roll, trimming etc) Yesterday I shipped 20 videos , it was 30 mins of recording and Claude editing while i did other stuff The sauce is in the skill refining Can’t wait to get better
A few thoughts on agentic video editing I’ve had over the last few days: 1. 99% of ads should be edited agentically now. If your editors are still editing in the timeline, they’re falling behind. I got a message from my senior VE saying that he’s putting out 5x edits/day now at the same quality he was before. 2. The conversation with video editors will be uncomfortable because the timeline is all they’ve ever known. Some will be hesitant and some will be fearful for their job. I think the best way to address this is head on. The tech is inevitable, but having taste is still going to be incredibly valuable to train and give feedback to agents. Those who have this will become more valuable, those who don’t will struggle. 3. Opus 5.5 can natively edit all of your ads without needing any MCPs or plugins. I’ve tried the alternatives and couldn’t find anything that was significantly better than doing everything inside of Claude. 4. Have your senior editor(s) build skills for each style of edit (e.g. mashups, UGC, AI animations…). You can build these by feeding 4-5 inspo edits to Claude and tell it to make a skill out of it. I prefer building lots of mini-skills to one big video editing skill, so that the context stays as relevant as possible. 5. Once you have a base skill (e.g. ugly ads edits), the best way to train it is through feedback loops. Have the skill re-edit the last 25 ads each senior edited then put them in an artifact, and have the senior VE give feedback on each. Keep doing this until the skill is refined and it understands what a good edit is. 6. If you do this, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t be able to make edits that need little/no feedback. Most of ours are approved after v1 or v2, sometimes v3. 7. Only A-player editors should be training the skills. 8. Re adoption in the team, the AI champion builds the v1. Then get out of the way. I’m not the best editor on my team, so my job is to build the harness that lets the best editors train the skills, not build the skills myself. 9. If you want to supercharge this process, have your top editors record their screen as they edit. Turn on Gmeet or loom and get them to narrate the reasoning behind their process. E.g. why they chose this cut, pacing or b-roll clip…this is all context that gets fed into your skills. 10. It takes time to build, train and refine these skills. You have to go through the dip to get out the other side. Budget time in for senior VEs to work on this - otherwise you’ll end up with skills that put out subpar edits and don’t save you much/any time. 11. Operate under the assumption that this is the worst video editing is ever going to be. Opus 5.5 can do most of our editing today…what will Opus 6/Fable 6 be able to do? The editing skills you build are only going to become more valuable as the tech evolves. I still don’t think people realise how big video editing being unblocked is. Things that I thought were 3-6 months away are now on the table. Will continue to share more as I learn. CRAZY, crazy times.

This might sound crazy but I’ve been reading and sleeping lately and I feel absolutely unstoppable

I think functional and matrix organization structures are going to fail to implement AI and have net negative AI ROI, and companies that implement a more flat, less bureaucratic, and hierarchical structure are going to naturally perform much better Hierarchy and bureaucracy inherently increase token usage. Of course, these incumbents will fail to adapt and eventually be disrupted by flat AI-native orgs

After a decade in corporate can confirm this is accurate “Middleware America” This is why services is popping off and we don’t see mass AI ROI 1. Use cases so bespoke it takes n of 1 to implement 2. Said n of 1 has no incentive to implement it
it blows my mind how big part of the economy is: - "there was no software for this part so we patched it with more people" - "our customer doesn't know what to do because our software is bad so we patched it by hiring more people" it's probably like 10-40% of white collar?

This is actually unveiling the hidden secret of the American corporation: People don’t really do much It’s not that AI saves an employee 3 minutes and those minutes get sucked into the borg of meeting waste It’s that ~30% of the average American corporate workers day is… nothing This is before the meetings, before the fake work Maybe worse, they are doing pretend work (This is my educated estimate after spending 2 decades doing finance and analytics at large corpos) For AI ROI to be positive, it will have to chew through an entire employee role This is because the avg employee will simply not “do more” when given more time. They are getting paid $80k to watch YouTube and shuffle some papers around. They can’t be arsed to care by dangling some 3% annual raise Mgmt has no clue what they do anyways and are too busy pretending to work themselves Only when 100% of their job has been automated will the employee then “do more stuff”, and only because of they don’t they will be fired I thereby posit that, before an average company can see 1% positive AI ROI, they will have to have to equivalent of a 70% increase in functional productivity

What if the cataclysmic doom being purported from inside the SF bubble was just bc they were automating their own jobs away lmao

The delay of info from tech X to normie IG/LI might be ~days But pales in comparison of the ~years it takes for IRL/culture to reach SF tech Consistently see takes like this emphatically delivered as if they are on the leading edge of what happened 3 years ago in LA
chappelle is the most talented stand up comedian of all time. there is no particular clear second place. he's created his entire own category of “chappelle-standup” that’s distinct from “standup comedy” modern chappelle combines supernatural comedic timing, and possibly the most comfortable presence someone will ever inhabit on a stage, with a bunch of topical stuff that he’s phoning in these days the trappings of his own life are the source of most of his comedy after his return to the limelight in the 2010s. he leverages his proximity to show business but also his ironic detachment from show business to generate a feeling for the fans that they’re part of the cabal. the audience at these events is unfortunately truly insufferable. it’s a religious gathering for a lot of these people, they’re hanging onto Dave’s every word, they’re laughing before he even says anything, they’re doing rhythmic babble like they’re at some kind of secular liturgy the guy is old and the superstardom has definitely gotten to him a bit. you see this tendency in many people where to get famous they have to be consistently at their peak hilarity, top performance, and as time goes on the mic becomes a soapbox. happens to many good posters too. it starts with jokes that are funny because you have a worldview and enhanced by your opinions and then transitions to mostly lecturing about your worldview in these comedy club routines he’s clearly just kind of winging it. there’s not much sense of beginning middle and end. there’s no real through line, unlike his netflix specials which tend to have some sort of exquisite story arc that always lands the joke material he leaves hanging throughout the show. at the live shows, he’s mostly riffing with the audience and his guest star about insider dave-chappelle-superfan-throwback stuff and the general culture, which he still maintains a preternatural finger on the pulse of. he does mention the creation of "digital gods" at one point and a sort of omnicausal sense that the world is ending even he admits “this is not going well”, and he’s getting progressively drunker as the show ends unceremoniously “damn I need to figure out my closer”. chappelle at 20% power is still somehow the absolute goat. the distribution of human talents is so uneven it’s absurd. it's always a pleasure to observe this level of greatness of any form up close. anyways i need to figure out my closer
