Hardly anyone on Earth understands the magnitude of this. It's actually happening right now. Crazy that we get to witness it close up.

Three years ago we couldn't make Will Smith eat spaghetti. Now we have this. Tell me again how we can’t possibly live in a simulation
Excited to share Genie 4 today our most realistic and interactive world model: - steer dynamic environments in real time, shaping events, camera angles, and actions - generate native audio matched to the world, from realistic background sounds to characters who can converse in real time! - simulate photorealistic scenes and real-world physics - create more coherent multi-step events through reasoning from Gemini We've started to roll out as a research preview to trusted testers. Coming soon to Google AI Ultra subscribers in Project Genie and early access partners via the Gemini API and AI Studio.

Legacy automotive CEOs: “By 2029 we expect to unveil designs for our EV prototype” Elon:
How about the robot is looking down while assembling a Swiss watch with one hand and then, without looking up, catches an oblique 100mph baseball with the other hand? I also like the idea of juggling chainsaws on fire while riding a unicycle.

My best mate (who lives in Japan) and I send each other articles and X posts constantly, but then can never find them again in WhatsApp. So we set up a shared Reading Salon run by our two @grok Bots over email. When either of us bookmarks something on X, our bots pull it automatically and add it to the Salon, giving us a shared place for everything we are reading (where we can leave comments, “like” pieces, mark them as read etc.). It’s a shared newsfeed and discussion forum for the most interesting stuff we’re reading online. (It’s also a nice hack for building a shared workspace on @bot)

Hey @mattyp Drop the "Grok." Just "Bot." It's cleaner.

I got my personal AI agent, @grok @bot, to book me a haircut - with surprisingly successful (and hilarious) results. I then asked it to animate the resulting conversation with my barber… Please enjoy a glimpse into our strange collective future.

Hyper-personalised education has arrived, and…it’s incredible. I built myself a “Learn Anything” @bot that teaches me about literally any topic by producing a fully customised podcast and video primer. It works like this: > Choose any topic at all - e.g. “the basics of weening a baby” > Bot asks what your current knowledge level is (and where you want it to end up) > It then thoroughly researches the topic using the most reputable sources (which it cites) > And produces a comprehensive podcast on the topic (to a length of your choosing e.g 5 mins, 30 mins) > As well as an animated video to go with it > You can then go much deeper in the chat with quizzes, deep dives, etc. I have been using this for the last few days to learn about everything from parenting tips to LLM architectures. Small sample from the weening video below. Imagine this at scale in a few years. The future of education is going to be so great! If people are interested I’d be v happy to make this open for free.

Very unfortunate timing for the Porsche team who launched their new vehicle today only to be flying-car-mogged by a trillionaire

No point being the eccentric trillionaire rocket-and-car-guy if you’re not gonna make a rocket car every once in a while

I met Elon in 2013 (that’s me on the left and @ian_goldin in the middle). I asked him what whacky ideas he has had but is yet to build - his immediate answer was an electric vertical-takeoff jet. 13 years later, I think we’re about to see it.

$100 trillion seems entirely feasible. With respect to the timeline my favourite quote about Elon is that he “makes the impossible late”
Unless there is a major world war, SpaceX probably gets to >$100T in <10 years

My @grok @bot assistant (Jeeves) is now liaising directly with my Japanese friend’s @grok @bot (Winston) - together they’re planning a trip for our families to Okinawa. We are through the looking glass here.

I think I have experienced “AGI”… Just did a 30-minute “phone call” with @bot. Together we got back to about 20 emails, organised my calendar for the week, wrote a proposal for my team, ordered lunch for my family, booked (and paid for) a hotel, and arranged a cab to the airport. It also gave me some great advice along the way. Did it all 100% “hands free” with my baby fast asleep on my chest. If this is what life is like with superintelligence, I am all in.

The smartest person I ever studied with at school, went on to be the smartest person I knew at Oxford Uni, and then the smartest I knew at Cambridge Uni - where he got a PhD. I recently wondered what he’s up to and checked his LinkedIn; he’s an editor at @WorksInProgMag
I’m very biased, but the new @WorksInProgMag is IMO a masterpiece in both design and content. worksinprogress.co/print/

In the past this would have taken me 2-3 hours! Lots of the marketing around AI is that it will make us more "productive” - which is true but not THAT exciting. I personally love that it helps me spend more time with my wife and family. So great!

I can confirm this guy is AGI. I saw him plugged into an electrolyte drip recently at Corgi Cafe!
