We’re saddened to hear of the death of King’s alumni Peter Ware Higgs. A fantastic physicist, he studied at King’s from 1947-1952 and during this time he was a key member of the college’s Maxwell Society 🧵

"Whether a degree is good or bad value depends not just on your salary but on how it changes your life."
As Rishi Sunak plans to end 'rip-off degrees', @AndrewMarr9 says it feels "remarkably reductive" to judge a degree by its financial outcome.

Can you bee-lieve this brilliant bug is over 3500 years old? 🐝✨
It was made by the Minoans, who inhabited the island of Crete from around 3000 BC. They used the bee to symbolise power and prosperity, making it a frequent motif in their art and jewellery
Happy #WorldBeeDay! 🐝

Happy international migrants day everyone!
In his youth, #NobelPrize laureate Ardem Patapoutian @ardemp moved from a war-torn Beirut to Los Angeles, USA. Today he is a scientist in California at @scrippsresearch. His discovery of a novel class of pressure sensors led to him receiving the 2021 medicine prize.
