Through #LookWest, the province is investing $241 million over three years to expand skilled trades training across the province. Up to 5,000 new training seats are coming this year, with thousands more to follow. Funding to @SkilledTradesBC will double by 2028-29.
Every region of B.C. is part of this, from the Cariboo and Kootenays to the North Coast, Vancouver Island, and the Lower Mainland.
With $88 billion in major projects moving forward in B.C., the demand for skilled workers has never been higher. The jobs in clean energy, critical minerals, aerospace, shipbuilding, transportation, and construction are coming. The question was always going to be who gets to fill them. The answer? British Columbians.
Controlling our own economic destiny means investing in the people who build the homes, the hospitals, the clean energy projects, and the infrastructure that holds this province together. That's the choice this government makes every day.

More proof the BC Cons plan to cut health care.

Thanks @JimboStanford for bringing the receipts to the conversation!
If you're a Canadian worker, there's no better place than BC to do an hour's labour for an hour's pay. Since 2024 BC has boasted the highest hourly wage of any province (incl. imputed hourly pay for salaried staff). BC passed SK in 2019, Ont in 2023, and Alta in 2024. #bcpoli /2

Because she is more valuable than a candidate on the Island. We are still waiting for the apology she has apparently issued as stated by @LDoerkson.
Why won’t the Conservatives remove their campaign manager? With her hateful words like this, it must be she reflects the party’s values. What else can it be?

Lorne Doerkson's campaign director didn't make a single mistake.
She has demonstrated a pattern of amplifying racist views, which she has not addressed or apologized for. #bcpoli

There should be no place on Lorne Doerkson’s team for someone who repeatedly spreads hate.

I don't understand how Lorne could defend his Campaign Director...
He needs to fire her. Show leadership Lorne.

Doerkson couldn't tell you how much he'll raise your car insurance. We know that people in Alberta and Ontario pay 2x as much for car insurance than people in BC. Why does Lorne Doerkson want people to pay more?

Not one @Conservative_BC candidate or @CPC_HQ MP has condemned Islamophobic comments tied to @LDoerkson's campaign director, who remains in the role.
Doerkson & his candidates' silence speaks volumes.
If you don't have the courage to stand up to hate - you're not fit to lead.
The Conservative leader went behind your back and promised personal injury lawyers he'd bring back the old car insurance system, and undo all the work we did to get rates under control.
It's not just reckless. He's selling out every driver in British Columbia.

Great news for Surrey! We’re investing more than $33 million to improve health care for people in Surrey. Surrey Memorial Hospital will see expanded access to emergency care and medical imaging, while seniors and families will see additional community day and overnight services.

One year ago the John Horgan Campus opened its doors, expanding access to post-secondary education in the Westshore. John believed education is the great equalizer. Today, that vision lives on through opportunities that help students learn and build their futures closer to home.

Today, I toured the newly opened interim learning space at @SFU's new Stephens Family School of Medicine in Surrey, the perfect space to train-up B.C.’s future doctors. It’s supported by $33.7M in provincial funding. Construction on the permanent space starts this Fall!

We’re making it easier than ever to build a career in the skilled trades. With our historic $241M investment, tens of thousands more people will have access to training opportunities, including 5,000 new seats this year alone. What trade would you choose? 🔨
