“designing much faster than the others” — this so daft and makes it clear they don’t understand design at all. “Designing fast” (or slow) is just not a thing. If you conflate “producing ui by piecing together stuff” and “design” then the former (which is a form of assembly-line practice) can surely be fast or slow.
What makes the practice of design challenging is not how to put a ui or poster together, it’s what the pieces are, what the message is, what is being communicated, how it all works together.
So many of today’s “design” AI tools focus almost exclusively on the production part, on putting stuff together. I’d love to see an AI design tool that forms a deep understanding of a problem over the course of days or months and works like a creative partner. Call me on my bullshit, thinks about the whole, isn’t concerned really about the final arrangement of elements as much as it would understand the story and the message.
Revolut's designers are moving off Figma.
Storonsky spotted one team designing much faster than the others. What they did:
1. Gave an LLM Revolut's design system at the code level
2. Prompted it to build new flows on top of that system
3. Got a live interface they can click through on a laptop or phone, instead of static frames
Result: 3-4x faster. Now he's pushing it to every designer at Revolut.
His job, as he describes it: find what works in one team and spread it across the company.

In the last year or so, Dropbox become so glitchy.
Most folders will flicker all the time, that also sometimes affects their content and makes stuff like reading multi-page PDFs impossible.
I do blame the Finder in all of this, to be fair.

The difficult part about AI, for me personally is that there are now a thousand things I can do in my industry that I couldn’t do before and somehow almost all of them lost their appeal, especially when it came to digital production work (software, assets etc... anything is possible now).
What I notice for myself is that there is a bigger shift happening in my head. I’m sort of re-evaluating my own ambitions (beyond creating digital things, like software) and trying to decide what will be worth focusing on in the coming years.
It's weirdly exciting.

25 years ago today, we introduced the iPod. 1,000 songs in your pocket.
A small team. An unforgiving deadline. We had months to bring the hardware, software, and music experience together. Proud of what we built and that it means so much to people still today. A device that has been woven in many ways into our lives. People have filled their iPods with road trips, breakups, workouts, special occasions with family and friends.
How cool that the iPod has become part of culture and our stories. 25 years, it’s hard to believe! Celebrating the team that made it happen today 👏

Started using Claude voice mode, and I leave it running in the background while I work, so I can ask questions if I need, and works incredibly well (I also find you learn more as you are still doing the work yourself).
There can be some snags though 😀:

The indomitable Alex Zanardi was born on this day in 1966.
On what would have been his 60th birthday, we remember a true icon of global sport who continues to inspire us all.
We miss him greatly. Forza Alex.
I repeat myself, but I’ve spent a couple of days working with Rive CLI and Claude Code to create a few internal demos (mobile app) and… blown away. Results are way better and accurate that I expected.

I only got to work for Rive for a short period of time (I miss the team) but I can tell you right now this tool is going to change the gaming industry.
BMW invested in Rive for 3 reasons: faster time to market, lower cost, and higher-quality experiences.
I built this unofficial demo with the Rive CLI in 24 hours. The same experience runs natively on a car GPU, a phone, a kiosk, a console, and of course the web: rive-vehicle-interface-i8bka…

A Rive customer asked us how to convert their 3D files to vector.
So I built this demo to show you don't have to. Instead of baking the 3D into a frame-by-frame vector sequence (the way they'd done it for Lottie in the past), you can keep the real 3D and just make it look vector.
The 3D models are standard glTF files, loaded straight into Rive and rendered on the GPU Canvas with flat three-tone shading and outlines. It looks like illustration, but it's still 3D: you can spin it, animate it and relight it, all in real time.
The phone screen is a live Rive artboard with real components, layouts, text, data binding and state machines, mapped onto the 3D phone. You can use it in 3D: scroll the app, tap the tabs, it all just works.
I built it with the Rive CLI, then pushed it to the Rive Editor, where all of Rive's interactive design and animation tools are there to keep iterating on it.
Oh and the whole thing is 344 KB.

I’m sure this one won’t make anyone angry. (But probably not here.)
