1/ There is very much a "crypto establishment" of early entrants who amassed disproportionate share of gains. Creation of new semi-redundant platforms is largely a reaction to this because no one wants prior holders to reap most of the gains from their sweat equity.

You can criticize $FB as much as you want. I dislike many of its decisions. But, stop criticizing its employees as a whole or asking "why do people still work there?" You don't know them. You don't know what they work on. You don't know what they go through in their lives.

Yep. Monero's FFS has gone smoothly because many donors are individuals who mined early who accumulated large stashes. Very different from Grin miners, who are either larger professional operations or fund managers with a fiduciary responsibility.
