When youโre trying to move on from someone you loved deeply, your mind may convince you that youโll never experience that kind of love again.
You might think they were the only person who could make you feel that way, that nobody else will ever mean as much to you, or that youโve already given away the deepest love youโll ever have.
But thereโs something you need to remember: the ability to love that deeply was yours long before that person came along.
They didnโt create that part of you. They were simply someone you had the opportunity to share it with.
Your capacity for affection, devotion, and genuine connection didnโt disappear when the relationship ended. You still possess all of it.
Donโt mistake the person who received your love for the source of your ability to give it. That depth came from you, and you can carry it into another chapter of your life.

Does anyone else experience this weird sense of social alienation? Like youโre watching everyone around you participate in life, build friendships, find their circles, and connect with each other, but you never quite feel like you belong. You crave genuine connection, especially female friendships, but so much of the social culture around you feels performative or disconnected from who you are.๏ฟผ
This isn't friendship. You're choosing to live in "selected realities" that paint a dishonest picture of the other person.
This is literally what broke my 14-year-long friendship.
Heal yourself first before seeking friends. You'll end up severely hurting them the more you hide.
The secret to retaining friendships and relationships, I've come to realise, is remarkably simple: say less. Don't offer unsolicited truths, don't give reality checks, don't point out contradictions, don't tell people what you actually think. Apparently, relationships thrive on a healthy diet of selective honesty and strategic silence.
The more you grow up, the more you realise that sometimes the only thing standing between you and a perfectly intact relationship is something you chose not to say.
And perhaps that's the real social contract: don't disturb someone's version of reality, and they'll happily keep you in theirs.
And if it doesnt work out? You get hurt, lost, battered, defeated, betrayed? It fucking hurts so god damned much, how could I ever entrust my heart to someone else?
That just means you learned.
It means you're still alive.

I wish the new generations of artists could enjoy a healthier internet. While I was developing my style, I never stopped uploading the ugliest Vocaloid fan art, and honestly, I don't know if I would have had the strength to keep drawing if I'd had to face hostile comments 24/7.
