Word and Excel reimagined for Linux with full compatibility! Maybe we don't need that Microsoft port of Office after all?

Fiat theft occurs everywhere in a 4th Turning.
A Houston homeowner tested his water meter with a bucket after questioning his bills. The reading showed a major discrepancy. #enough #enoughhouston

A safari is not only about the animals you tick off a list. The changing light, sounds, landscapes, and quiet moments are part of it too.
HILARIOUS 🤣 I was a Saylor fan in the early beginning, it was a fascinating story to see, but man the “crypto anarchist” in me quickly disliked the trajectory. The rest is history…
$MSTR CFO just resigned. A sudden departure like that is almost always a huge red flag for any company. Think Enron, WorldCom, Lehman Brothers, etc

Blaming capitalism for the expanding wealth gap is like blaming the bathtub for the water rising.

Crazy idea: don’t allow banks to create currency out of thin air

Omarchy Mobile now has a home: omamobile.org
Native Omarchy on phones: Arch Linux ARM, Hyprland and Omarchy's own apps on a mainline Linux kernel. No Android underneath. No Google Play.
On the Pixel 7 Pro, 19 of 22 hardware parts work today: display at 120Hz, GPU, touch, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, cameras, GPS, fingerprint unlock, NFC, charging and more. Modem and suspend are next.
Now I need help bringing it to more phones.
Community ports are underway for the Pixel 6, 6 Pro, 8 Pro, 9a and Fold, plus the OnePlus 13 and the POCO F3. The wanted list includes the Pixel 7, 7a, 6a, 8, 9, 10 and Tablet.
If you have an unlockable phone and want to learn kernel bring-up, this is the project. Stock Android stays on slot A and your calibration data stays read-only, so it's built to never brick your phone.
Point your agents at the repo, connect your phone to your computer, and let the tokens flow.

Let's be honest, even with education it's VERY hard to resist the temptation to pour water on top. Why?
... Because we've all played Pokemon and we know the fundamental elements. To kill Dracofeu🔥, you don't use Roucoups🐦💨, you use Tortank 🌊😌
Human beings are super irrational creatures indeed.
I've been telling people about bitcoin privately and publicly for 8+ years.
It's been a constant reminder of how difficult it is to actually help most people. Ultimately, because pride causes them to immediately reject things that don't already align with their worldview and assumptions.
Fiat inflation is not going to stop... The current system requires it.
Eventually, a single bitcoin will be worth millions of dollars and people will still be calling it a 'scam' because of ego.

Security called me at 6:12 AM today.
"Patch every PHP server immediately."
I asked what happened.
"Two critical vulnerabilities. Remote code execution. No authentication required."
Cool.
How many PHP servers do we have?
According to inventory: 12
According to reality:
Nobody knows.
We found one running WordPress.
Three running old internal tools.
One under someone's desk.
Two inside vendor appliances.
A forgotten employee directory from 2016.
And a server named:
PHP-OLD-DO-NOT-TOUCH
Naturally, that one runs payroll exports.
Then we found a PHP 5.6 box.
I asked who owned it.
The documentation said:
BRIAN.
Brian left in 2019.
We called Brian.
He said:
"Oh wow, that's still running?"
Excellent.
By 8 AM, leadership joined the incident call.
CEO:
"Can hackers actually get in?"
Security:
"Potentially yes."
CEO:
"Without a password?"
Security:
"Yes."
CEO:
"Then why do WE need passwords?"
Not the lesson.
Finance asked if we could wait until the weekend to patch because downtime affects revenue.
Security explained that the alternative was letting strangers execute code on our servers.
Finance asked for a cost comparison.
At 9:17, someone suggested temporarily taking the vulnerable websites offline.
Marketing refused.
"Our campaign is live."
So for the next hour, the company officially decided maintaining a landing page for 20% off webinar registration was more important than preventing remote server takeover.
We finally patched everything we could find.
Then our scanner discovered another PHP server.
Hostname:
TEMP-PHP-2014
Uptime:
4,512 days.
Nobody knows what it does.
Nobody owns it.
Nobody can shut it down.
But every time we block network access, the warehouse stops printing shipping labels.
Security has classified it as critical infrastructure.
It is running PHP 5.4.
The vulnerability has existed longer than half our employees.
The emergency patch took four hours.
Finding out what PHP actually runs took eleven.
The internet isn't held together with code.
It's held together with servers everyone is afraid to turn off.
Have you ever heard of something called “gun ownership and the 2nd amendment”?
Replying to @electionsjoe
You’re also paying the gov to enforce your ownership of the land. If someone shows up and says they own your land now, your taxes cover the process for the government to enforce/back up that YOU own your home. They keep the records and enforce the law for you and that isn’t free.

There’s no property tax in El Salvador.
The govt. supplies all the programs and services by being efficient, with no corruption.
Anyone who says property tax is essential to fund government services should study how El Salvador is providing world class services without property tax.
