in terms of hip hop history, the 2020s gotta be the weakest decade when it comes to political rap. you rarely hear any major hits reference wars or global warming or any of the big issues of the day: in many ways, it feels like rap as a genre is closer to being apolitical rn

Crazy coincidence that 'Samdish' means 'one who shows the right path' and 'Parth' means 'an archer who never misses the target'.

Saying Kendrick Lamar needs to make an album that takes us through the journey of his life tells me these niggas have completely missed what his entire catalog has been for nearly 15 years. Every Kendrick album is an installment in his autobiography. His discography is essentially one long biopic told in chapters.
good kid, m.A.A.d city is literally a day in the life of a teenager growing up in Compton, documenting the environment that shaped him.
To Pimp a Butterfly follows the young artist who escaped that environment, only to wrestle with fame, survivor's remorse, exploitation, identity, and the weight of representing his community.
DAMN. captures a Kendrick who's reached the top of the industry and is wrestling with faith, ego, wealth, morality, and the question of whether he's living a life of wickedness or weakness.
Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers is what happens after he steps away from the spotlight. He goes to therapy, confronts generational trauma, accountability, relationships, fatherhood, and many of the internal conflicts that had been building throughout the previous albums.
Then comes GNX, another chapter. It's the aftermath of the biggest rap battle of his career, a victory lap, a reflection on everything that followed, and a love letter to Los Angeles and the culture that raised him.
So, when people say, "Kendrick needs to make an album about his life," my question is... what fucking discography have you been listening to?
Replying to @_Twinndiesel @RapRoundtablePC
And you said something else along the lines of, Kendrick needs to drop an album that takes us through the journey of his life. GNX DID THAT. That part of his life was his victory run and him addressing everything post battle.
