No joke: the UN, which consistently condemns Israel as the world's only violator of women's rights, has appointed Iran to serve as an international watchdog for women's rights.
The Jewish-Canadian human rights lawyer, Hillel Neuer, slammed the UN over this shameful decision: "Electing the Islamic Republic of Iran to protect women’s rights is like making an arsonist into the town fire chief. It’s absurd — and morally reprehensible. This is a black day for women’s rights, and for all human rights [...]".
