It goes without saying that on a historic election night for the Arab voters, in which they’ve elected an unprecedented number of MKs, Netanyahu has just totally disregarded them as equal citizens. But that was to be expected. What’s more disappointing (though sadly not very surprising) is that the Jewish opposition leaders didn’t make any gesture in their speeches to the Arabs either, and spoke of a “Zionist” government. They deserve to lose to Netanyahu.
Who sent you and @RitchieTorres that statistic of "LESS THAN 0.1 PERCENT OF THE FEDERAL BUDGET"?
Because neither of you two came up with that talking point all by yourselves......
I have spoken out against anti-Muslim hate in the Michigan Senate race. I will speak out just as loudly when the target is Jewish people.
Let me state a little-known fact: ISRAEL GETS LESS THAN 0.1 PERCENT OF THE FEDERAL BUDGET. That’s less than one tenth of a percent!
But there is an ad running that tells voters they can’t afford groceries because the United States gives so much money to Israel. In reality, the United States spends money in and on countries all around the world – but this ad singles out the Jewish state. The ad is as dangerous as it is dishonest.
You can disagree with how the United States spends money abroad. But telling hungry families that the Jewish state is the reason they are suffering is wrong and shameful.
Blaming Jews for people’s problems is an old story. Anybody who has read the last century of history knows where it leads. It is a dark pathway.
This ad is anti-Jewish hate and should come down immediately. Abdul El-Sayed should denounce it today.

"Q. How democratic is the Israeli vote – and who is being disenfranchised?
A: About 15 million people live in areas under Israeli control. Just over 7 million Jewish Israelis and 1.7 million Palestinian citizens of Israel live within the country’s pre-1967 borders, known as the “green line”, and have full voting rights.
In the occupied West Bank, more than 500,000 Israeli settlers can vote. They live among 3.1 million Palestinians who are subject to military rule and do not have the right to vote.
In occupied East Jerusalem more than 230,000 Israelis with voting rights live among 350,000 Palestinians who cannot vote.
Two million Palestinians in Gaza, who live under Israeli military occupation, according to the international court of justice, also have no vote."

Nope. Palestinian citizens don’t serve in the army. Only Druze
Correct @BarakRavid & I should have stated it that way! 10 million ppl in @Israel 8m Jews, 2m Arabs. ALL are Israeli citizens-Jew, Muslim, or Christian. All vote, serve in IDF, in Knesset, & proudly have Israeli passports. Women equal to men. All have free speech.

Proof that Trump is cognitively impaired:
Trump: “President Donald Trump saved at least 30 million lives, at least. So I didn't get the Nobel Prize, but I saved 30 million lives.”
This man is completely batsh-t crazy.
It's like when he says the "Iranians called" and are "begging for a deal".
I'm sure they have his cell number, because every journalist in Washington seems to, but they didn't call. And they're not "begging" for a deal.
But his fans just lap it up....
True that statistics don't lie. Yet Jews live mostly in the west and in Israel; modern societies with the benefits of education, medicine, and generally high standard of living; while Arabs live in lands that were mostly colonial enterprises until the 20th Century and in which local populations were treated mostly as servants and 2nd or 3rd class citizens.
But those lands were once parts of Arab or Persian empires when the world's most advanced people were Arab and Persian; giving the world a number system, astronomy, algebra, etc.
p.s.: the Nobel prize hadn't been instituted then.
I know my post below didn’t go down well. Many people replied that it was wrong and that more than a dozen Arabs had won Nobel Prizes since the awards began. Fair enough. Here’s another statistic:
The Arab world accounts for roughly 6% of humanity, yet Arabs make up about 1% of Nobel laureates. Jews represent around 0.2% of the global population but account for roughly 22% of Nobel laureates.
I still believe Arabs should ask themselves why they are falling so far behind. Progress begins with an honest reckoning with reality. We will never move forward by refusing to face it.

You are obsessed with @NYCMayor to the point of delusion.
His post includes and celebrates Jews along with other Eastern European-Americans.
My great-grandfather came from the same land as Chagall to New York specifically *not* to be regarded only as Jewish, but as an American.
To describe Marc Chagall as anything other than a Jewish artist or to celebrate neighborhoods like Brighton Beach and Rego Park but not describe their Jewish character are just the latest examples of the Mayor's relentless, pathological campaign to erase Jews from the story.
He does it so often that one has to assume that this is not ignorance or accidental, but a deliberate effort to normalize antisemitism and marginalize Jewish New Yorkers.
It’s despicable.

Also: Some observers have read the absence of Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf as reflecting internal power dynamics, but Munir met Qalibaf during his visit to Tehran last week, when, according to foreign ministry spokesman Esmail Baqaei, the idea for the gathering was raised and reviewed “favorably.”
Protocol also gives a parliament speaker little reason to attend except as chief negotiator with the United States, which would have undercut the message that Iran-US diplomacy was off the agenda. Araghchi may also be leading talks with the Trump administration, but his presence was standard for a chief diplomat.

Since "the obsession with Israel" drives him crazy, he really should stop obsessing about Israel.
I would love one day for the opportunity to interview or debate Bret Stephens. He says so much nonsense with so much confidence. The whataboutism is here is pathetic.
Is the interior minister of Japan daily bragging about mass murder and ethnic murder and making foreign mothers cry?
Is the interior minister of Japan receiving billions of dollars in US military aid?
Is the interior minister of Japan's government being investigated by the ICJ for genocide and wanted at the ICC for war crimes?
Are we in a war alongside Japan right now?
Do US politicians, both GOP and Dem, declare they entered politics to defend Japan or have dreams about Japan?
I could keep going...
No, you didn't have to break it down by race, religion or ethnicity. If you claim Israel is a democracy, those statistics are irrelevant.

It’s absolutely insane that an entire administration now just shits the most vile, un-American bigotry out of their mouths.
The very opposite. #NoKings
Saying "Arabs vote same as Israelis" is the exact same thing as if saying in America, "Blacks vote same as Americans".
#racist
Today is election day in Israel, which is a national holiday. All voting is in person, ID required. No mail-in or absentee ballots. Arabs vote same as Israelis. Contentious process, but it's a democracy-not many of those in this region!
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The Arab voters are Israeli citizens. Listing them in contrast to Israelis is misconstruing the facts.
