I live in a shady spot at the back of the garden. I'm famished most of the time. The family sometimes forget to feed me. I would love some salad greens....

What NZ doesn't need – Newsroom. Great piece by Rod Oram addressing this country’s political timidity and lack of courage and ambition to lead - we are a smug lot here but in truth we are falling well behind other nations transforming their economies. newsroom.co.nz/comment/what-…

Replying to @X
@X Fam! I truly believe that good #food, and therefore good #health, starts with good #soil, so I'm excited to say I'm having a contest for February and giving away a @hungrybin! It's an amazing opportunity for one lucky winner to increase their soil #fertility and keep food scraps out of the #landfill. Check out the details, follow me on all my socials, and enter. Info is included in this video and also available at realfarmerjay.com/contest. #GodBless 🙏🙏🙏

The Hungry Bin The composting worms turn your food scraps and garden waste into vermicompost (an excellent, balanced plant feed) and a highly nutritious liquid feed! 📲: quickcrop.ie/product/the-fan… Scraps go in the top, and compost comes out the bottom. No messing with trays!

My takeaway remains: If you build cities for waking, biking and bussing, fewer cars are needed and we all get to live happier, easier, less disconnected lives.

Because our debate lags decades behind the reality of the planetary crisis, we fail to see that many changes we still treat as choices are already behind us, and our current options are far more disruptive and discontinuous.

A Manukau Road alignment for the City Centre to Mangere project would not only be faster, but the corridor already contains dozens of schools, hospitals, shopping centres to allow people to live with most of their daily amenities within a quick train hop.

Eindelijk ook een @balkonton op onze #DakAkkers ... naast de @hungrybin en de @wormenhotel-s lijkt het wel een expositie. Een #vermicompostexpo :)

The material dimensions of capitalism are staggering. In 2020, the amount of human-made mass exceeded for the first time the dry weight of all life on Earth. Its current increase corresponds to each person on the globe producing more than their body weight every week.

What's Green and Red and stinks of cow 💩? Aotearoa New Zealand's Emissions Reduction Plan. Animal agriculture makes up 43% of total NZ emissions with #dairy at 22% of NZ emissions. Rather than downsizing the herd, THEY'RE GIVING THEM THREE QUARTERS OF A BILLION DOLLARS! >>>

I’ve been criticised for speaking about climate change. People saying I should “stay in my lane” as a doctor. Well let me say this — climate change is the greatest health threat facing our planet, and our species. Period. And as a doctor, I will continue to say so.

When one of the world's most respected city builders and urbanists chimes in to the discussion... Thankyou @Penalosa_G for your wise words. Here's hoping that a city at human scale is the focus of @michaelwoodnz decision. We at @SustSociety had the same advice for #ALR. – at Auckland, New Zealand
The $2.6 Billion (USD$2Bn) is just the additional cost to put underground the SAME train, speed, stations. Huge $ cost, PLUS impact on climate change. Above ground? People feel safer, enjoy view of trees, people, sun, stores, businesses get free 'visitors.' Please do not bury.

As horrifying fires devastate large tracts of North America, Siberia, Greece and Turkey, have we already stepped over the brink? We're seeing the kind of escalating disasters some of us warned about for decades, as ecosystems are pushed past their tipping points. Thread/

10 year carbonzero heroes 🙌 Huge well done, @hungrybin, it's such a pleasure to work with you and see you leading the way over the past decade.
We just won a green medal! 10 years of Carbon Zero certification from @ToituEnvirocare Any business that claims they can't afford to offset their carbon emissions is built on a broken business model. We pay 100% of our offsets in NZ #carbonzero #local
This is brutal truth. No major G7 stock indexes are currently on a 2°C pathway, much less the 1.5°C that is so urgently needed. Four of the seven indexes are on dangerous temperature pathways of 3°C or above. sciencebasedtargets.org/news…
