Tampa Bay Lightning has a true home ice advantage in the NHL. Tampa Bay Buccaneers has a home field advantage if the team is good. The fans in the Tampa Bay Area has not consistently given the Rays the type of playoff home environment the Lightning & Buccaneers get.
I’m biased as a Chicago native but the Chicago city flag is timeless. Indianapolis has a nice flag and Cincinnati too.
From the two B1G teams listed, I think Will Stein wins a natty at Purdue before Lincoln Riley at Rutgers. From the rest of the list, I’ll take “Big Game” James Franklin winning at Kansas before Cignetti, Smart or Deboer at G6 schools.
Did Caleb Wilson travel? Probably but it’s hardly ever called in the NBA these days. The Bulls may not be good this season but the basketball Caleb might be pretty good too.
ROOKIE CALEB WILSON COOKED PAUL GEORGE 🤧
Shifty jab into the dunk 😯
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
This was an uncalled traveling violation.

Soccer Holdings LLC knows this. Racing Louisville FC is a money loser but NWSL teams are appreciating assets. It would be foolish to sell this asset and move it to Cincinnati. Cincinnati has enough big sports assets like the Bengals, Reds, FC Cincinnati.
It shouldn’t be a surprise. Most pro sports teams aren’t great businesses on the fundamentals. The Knicks won the NBA title, with playoff revenue up about $67M, and still made only about $59M in operating income. The Rangers lost about $30M. Combined, MSG Sports earned $29M on $1.15B of revenue.
The money isn’t in the annual P&L. It’s in the appreciation of a scarce trophy asset (Forbes now values the Knicks at $12.6B) and in using the team as collateral for cheap capital to deploy elsewhere.
Regular season college basketball is a better product than the NBA. The crowds at the big schools are passionate. NIL has kept players in college longer making those players more experienced at that level. Any major program can win the NCAA Tournament. It’s a Level playing field.
The Swifties are loved by the NFL & the league wants their support. The Seahawks jab at Taylor Swift is not disrespectful to her or her fans but a sign of respect. Swifties are part of the sports universe, trash talk is a part of it. Taylor talks trash artfully in her music too.
📺’s are cheaper to buy because the manufacturers make more money off of the user data from the television itself or from the internet connection it is connected to.
The Big 12 is more stable than the ACC. I agree with Louisville being an expansion target. Academics could actually keep U of L in the ACC. U of L is last in a very good academic conference. Our city needs U of L to be elite academically to compete as a city. ACC does that.
Replying to @MercerHoops @JWMediaDC
It's unlikely the ACC will be able to poach from the Big 12 for three reasons:
(1) The Big 12's next TV contract will start in July 2032, a year before the ACC's exclusive negotiation window with ESPN opens. At that point in time, the Big 12's Grant of Rights will be extended.
(2) All Big 12 members are signers of the Big 12's bylaws, which state in section 1.2.3. that "each Member agrees with the Conference and with each of the other Members to remain a member of the Conference for ninety-nine (99) years beginning July 1, 2012." The bylaws go on to breakdown the exit fee, which is substantial.
(3) The Big 12 has little risk of ever being poached. And, there are no members actively pining & strategizing to leave. Simply put, it's a more stable league. No Big 12 team is going to want to pay 9 figures to buyout the GOR & exit the conference to join a league that has multiple members trying to figure out how to leave for more money.
The Big 12 is the one that's set up to poach from the ACC. They'll be able to offer any ACC team significantly more money a year before those teams will be able to see what the ACC is worth. And, they'll be able to offer stability & elite basketball to boot. They don't even have to go after the most premier brands. They could easily target someone like Louisville. Like the Big 12 targeting Colorado in order to weaken the Pac-12, poaching a team like Louisville would undermine the conference & prompt the premier brands to consider making a conference move.
J.J McCarthy hasn’t won the NY Giants starting QB job yet. If he does, the Giants could use Jaxon Dart for draft capital. If the Giants can follow the Eagles & Bears example, it could get a nice haul of picks to build the team around.
The UFL is becoming a middle market major pro football league. That is the sweet spot for this product. Massive broadcast platform for cities like Columbus, Colorado Springs, Louisville, Orlando. Pawtucket. These type of cities will be the bread and butter markets for this league
If this is any indicator of attendance for the upcoming UFL season, Colorado Springs will be another hit market. The soccer stadium is small enough where it should be full enough to look great on 📺.
I can’t speak for the economic impact for a UFL team anywhere, but 📺 exposure will be more than what Colorado Springs could ever imagine for a professional sports team. The UFL is bringing tier 1 level broadcast exposure to Colorado Springs. That’s a win everyone can see.
Are you ready for some football, Colorado Springs?! 🏈
What an exciting day for our city! Southern Colorado finally has a professional football team to call our own — the Colorado Stampede! @UFLStampede
This is a big win for our local economy, our downtown, and our entire region. But what excites me most is seeing our community rally around a team of our own.
Mark your calendars for April 11 at @WeidnerField . Let's fill those stands and show the @TheUFL
what the @CityofCOS is all about!
Chicago is a pro sports town. College football isn’t popular because the nearby schools aside from Notre Dame aren’t national championship good so we follow the NFL. On the flip side, the colleges are elite academically and that’s where the outside pressure is focused toward.
I think London & Berlin would be the European markets the NFL targets for expansion. There is a European football league already in place. Adding a NFL team in Europe could hurt the growth of the European league.
The venue logistics for this WNBA Finals has been nothing short of embarrassing for the league. The W overall has had a record breaking season on the business side. The venue uncertainty in Atlanta is a bad look to end the season.
There will definitively be a Game 6 of the WNBA Finals in Atlanta. But nobody knows yet where or even when the game will be played despite a furious round of negotiations spilling into Sunday between the WNBA, NBA, Valkyries, Dream and Atlanta Hawks, sources told ESPN.
"There are problems with all the solutions," one source close to the situation said.
