🚨 #Mississippi Election Debacle.
The following is the timeline of which ALL residents should be made aware:
• 2014: MS AG Jim Hood sued Experian over bad credit data, including WRONG ADDRESSES.
• 2016: Settlement reached, and MS was paid ~$7.2M, including an ‘agreement to fix some practices’.
*Note* Federal case: 1:14-cv-00243
U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi
State of Mississippi et al. v. Experian Information Solutions, Inc.
• Early 2024: SoS @MichaelWatsonMS ran a ‘Pilot Program’ of Experian’s commercial “Best Address” data in Lafayette County. The results:
- Election Commissioners flagged INACCURATE addresses (including some of their own family members), and informed inaccuracies to SoS office early on.
- Lafayette County Circuit Clerk, Jeff Busby, acknowledged problems with data.
• Late 2024/early 2025: Secretary Watson’s office ALONE decided to expand it statewide, signing a ~$50k contract with Experian. Experian’s own paperwork stated, “It could not guarantee accuracy.”
• July 2025: Statewide use begins. ALL 82 counties begin marking people inactive, including LEGITIMATE voters.
• After July 2025: Confirmation cards (postcards) were mailed to the WRONG addresses Experian had supplied; ergo, voters never received.
*Note* AT LEAST ~50K people were made inactive due to address conflicts.
• SoS @MichaelWatsonMS reaction: publicly called the whole thing “wildly successful.”
• By early November 2026: More than 230K voters statewide (~1 in 9) were INACTIVE. More than 15K were removed in DeSoto County alone — just between March primaries and the November general!
• ~ONE week before Election Day: Secretary Watson switches from Experian to IDI Data.
*Note* The earlier inactivations stay.
• November 3, 2026: REGULAR voters learn they are inactive AT TIME of voting.
• Affidavit Ballot Issues: long lines, shortages of BOTH ballots and affidavit envelopes.
*Note* Among counties hardest hit by the ‘inactive debacle’: DeSoto (of course!!), Rankin, and Lee.
Were voters made aware of decisions made to use such an unreliable program? Were they given any say — at all? How is this NOT election interference? What has this done to election integrity? What else do We the People not know??
‼️TO DO: If you were affected, and had to vote by affidavit, your ballot MUST be received in County Circuit Clerk’s office BY November 10. If not, your vote WILL NOT count‼️
I wish I could but capitalism makes it easier to just eat the $100 doctor visit and then dodge collections if you need surgery/hospital visit
You are literally incentivized to pay a dollar a month instead of take the debt seriously

This is why Republicans lost every statewide office and the State House in Georgia. I’m trying to lower your bills and you guys are asking me where I’m going to pee.
The implication of this is that people who want to phase out fossil fuels have no replacement. Which is idiotic. Ironically, @elonmusk has a whole company that thrives on clean energy. He could've lobbied for this to be more prevalent. Instead, he cut USAid and sunk Tesla
If you think gas prices are high now, wait until the anti-fossil fuels zealots takeover!

They did similar with the Affordable Care Act by raising the cost and decreasing benefits to people at risk, the elderly, and veterans

Just like clockwork. The corporations that we VOTED to block from buying off politicians are suing to make sure...they can keep buying off politicians.

The fact she said *is* is a bit worrisome
I'm really worried this is a bait tactic with the Senatopia precinct being burnt down prior.
I have a feeling the courts are going to try to overturn and *that* is not what the country needs when nukes are being considered for Iran
Cindy Hyde-Smith is going to represent Mississippi in the United States Senate for the next six years. We believe thousands of votes remain to be counted from dozens of Republican counties, and we are confident those votes will reinforce her path to victory.
Election officials are continuing the normal process of counting outstanding ballots, including absentee ballots. They must have the time to complete that work and ensure every lawful ballot is accurately counted and every Mississippian’s voice is heard.
We expect Democratic lawyers to pull out every stop, and we are prepared. Our focus is on completing the count and returning Cindy Hyde-Smith to the Senate to keep fighting for Mississippi values.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
As of this November 5 post, Democrat Scott Colom led Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith by over 1,000 votes with 96% counted in Mississippi's Senate race, which remained too close to call with outstanding ballots projected to favor Colom.

they’ll never admit it, but republicans depend on the cities and urban centers they constantly slander as dangerous and crime-ridden.
these places are densely populated engines of our entire economy, and their political leanings are a better indicator of our country’s social temp than any county w/ 2.3 people per square mile.

People can't share if the corporations kick them out of their own homes
Mississippi is competing for investment and winning — and we want communities in every corner of our state to share in that success.
These 102 Opportunity Zones create new opportunities to attract private capital, strengthen local economies and bring more jobs and investment to areas that have tremendous potential for growth.
We're building on Mississippi's economic success and giving even more communities the tools to compete for the investments that will shape their futures.

ONE THING that most of the RIGHT and the LEFT can agree on is this: Get corporate money out of politics. Get foreign money out of politics.
For Mississippi, the right had damn near 100 years to do whatever they wanted and they disenfranchised voters, used Federal money as leverage against cities, and protected cops who killed citizens over and over
