I don’t care what anyone says I personally really like this Pope despite his limitations and I think he has a rich interior life of prayer and sincere faith and devotion
I truly hope he can still enjoy a long pontificate
Viva il Papa!

Hey Ryan. It’s not that we prefer the Church Fathers over the Bible. It’s that we prefer listening to how the Church Fathers interpret the Bible over how YOU interpret the Bible. Manifestly novel interpretations of the Bible should be rejected, because they could not have truly come from the Apostles.
We're probably the most advanced civilization in our side of the galaxy. Intelligent life, if it exists in other worlds, is not yet advanced enough to send any sort of communication we could detect.

There are multiple Hadith in #Twelver books starting from Al-Kafi onward in which a total of 13 Imams - Imam Ali plus 12 of his descendants (or Fatima’s descendants) - are foretold. Later Twelver Hadith then edit and correct these narrations to make them say exactly 12. I present examples here and I chose not to publish this paper for the time being but perhaps will in future.

US Bishops: “Vatican 2 mandates us to build dialogue and respect with Jews. To this end we simply wish them well on their Yom Kippur holiday.”
Angry eCatholics: “You are betraying the Gospel and don’t think evangelization is important”
US Bishops:
Unfortunately, that’s not what’s happening, Delman. They’re not drawing on minority opinions to support their arguments. They’re taking a minority opinion and remixing it so thoroughly that the scholars who actually advanced it wouldn’t recognize the result as their own.
Imagine if I read Donner’s Muhammad and the Believers & saw his thesis that the earliest movement was an ecumenical community of “Believers”that included Jews and Christians, and concluded that Muhammad was a Christian preacher and the original Qur’an affirmed Jesus as the Son of God…….. while ignoring that Donner defines the Believers by strict monotheism and dates the Qur’an, with its explicit denial of Jesus’s sonship, to Muhammad's own lifetime. You wouldn’t allow this to happen to your own text

Ok, so, a short recap of what’s happened:
Farmers need potash as fertilizer. Potash is necessary to grow food and feed the world.
Yet Trump started a completely pointless war in Iran which choked off the Strait of Hormuz. This limits the world supply of potash, as million of tons of it come from Jordan and must travel through the Strait.
Ok, no problem. Our friendly neighbors to the north of us just happen to be the world’s #1 exporter of potash. We’ll just buy from them!
Oh wait, Trump completely wrecked our friendship with Canada for literally no reason by slapping them with egregious tariffs and insulting them by calling them the 51st state.
Well, darn. Ok, then we’ll make a deal with the #4 exporter of potash, Belarus. Belarus is a dictatorship and one of Putin’s satellite states. So, by buying from Belarus, we are indirectly helping Putin fund his war in Ukraine. Not good, but we need to eat.
Oh wait, all of Belarus’ potash has already been spoken for. There’s none for us to buy.
The USA is going to be in deep crap next growing season, and it’s not the kind of crap that can fertilize a field. There WILL be food shortages. Americans WILL go hungry.
That’s the art of the deal, baby!

Parenthood must sometimes feel like a second childhood because you get to do all the things you loved doing as a child again but through the fresh eyes of someone doing it for the first time and maybe you get to recognize yourself in them like hearing an echo of your own past

Thirty-eight years ago, a woman in Nebraska made an appointment to have an abortion. She was in college and believed she couldn't afford to take care of her baby. However, she couldn't go through with it, so she made an appointment with another doctor.
After her appointment, she decided to keep her baby.
And here he is...Father Ryan Kaup.

Throughout history, some have tried to fully harmonize differences in the Gospels, while others accept minor discrepancies and focus on the core message as a faithful account of events. A key example is the healing of the centurion’s servant, where Gospel of Luke gives a more detailed version involving intermediaries, while Gospel of Matthew simplifies the story by presenting the centurion as speaking directly.
This kind of variation reflects a common ancient writing practice: authors often simplified or transferred actions to central figures for clarity. Similar techniques appear in ancient biographies like those of Plutarch, showing that differences in accounts do not necessarily indicate error but intentional composition.
The Gospels function as biographies, not precise transcripts, so their goal is to communicate meaning rather than exact detail. Simplification, compression, and adaptation were normal ways of telling stories, both in antiquity and in everyday communication, without being considered misleading.

“It takes a village to raise a child.”
We killed the village. No more leaving the kid at the neighbour’s house.
We killed the large family. No more grandparents, aunts, and uncles around to help raise the kids.
We killed the stay at home parent. Raising kids became a paid service.
One by one, we removed every support system that made raising children easier.
Then we wondered why people stopped wanting children.
We didn’t just kill the village.
We killed the desire to raise a child.
