I'm honestly still surprised she came back to party, considering her background (Steven Point's nepo daughter). They fucking renamed Trutch Ave after her dad and she's going to, what, vote against land acknowledgements and to repeal DRIPA?! Baffling, pathetic stuff

Following their historic landslide victory, the BC Conservatives have secured a majority government. Yet beyond the legislature, the NDP continue to control nearly every public body, from ICBC to BC Ferries, filling key positions with their own appointees.
Without holding government, the NDP still command the state apparatus. They have never been the province's 'natural governing party', but if allowed to maintain their institutional footprint, they will come to be seen as the norm rather than the exception.
If the @Conservative_BC intend to undo the last decade, they must purge these partisans, shrink the government payroll, and reform the public sector. Policy is essential, but political power is decisive, and without broader institutional control, the new government will be left managing a hostile bureaucracy.

"Canada continues to struggle with a shortage of nurses despite federal efforts to recruit foreign-trained health care workers, with vacancy rates for licensed practical nurses remaining five times higher than they were nearly a decade ago.
Blacklock's Reporter says new Statistics Canada figures show the job vacancy rate for licensed practical nurses stood at 12% in 2025, compared with 2.5% in 2016.
The findings were published in Canadaβs Health Workforce: An Integrated Summary Based On Statistics Canada Data, which examined employment trends and labour shortages across the health care sector.
βVacancy rates remained highest among licensed practical nurses at 12% in 2025,β the report stated. βThis was down from a peak of 19% in 2023, but five times higher than the rate in 2016, 2.5%.β" @WesternStandard @mindingottawa

Purdue University's IDEAS Lab built an autonomous drone that tracks runners through dense forests completely without GPS or cloud networks.
By running 3D LiDAR mapping and obstacle-avoidance AI entirely on-chip, it can weave under tree canopies and predict target movement through blind spots in real time.
Massive implications for next-gen search & rescue and edge AI.
Idiots when something with a 20% chance of happening happens 20% of the time

BC's new Conservative government should push to restore the Captain Cook statue in Victoria's Harbour toppled by an unruly mob in 2021.
It could be Cook or a great historic BC figure. Amor De Cosmos? Governor Douglas? Wacky Bennet?
