Hungary and Slovakia are the main problematic offenders. The Europeans have been working hard to get off of Russian energy. The policy of Trump 1 was to end it, including by prohibiting the completion of the Nordstream 2 pipeline.

The other important point to pull from Jack’s remarks here, is that to end the war, we should be pressuring Russia. That is the ‘pro peace’ position.
Gen. Jack Keane with some blunt advice for the president on Putin, “the massive pathological liar that he is.” Keane says that Putin "has convinced our president that he's genuine and sincere about wanting to make the deal...But what’s the evidence of that?”
Zelensky said yes to an unconditional ceasefire from the start. Putin has never agreed to one, and Keane notes that Russia has “violated every ceasefire that they’ve had” since 2014.
Putin can’t beat Ukraine’s army, so he’s waging war on its people. Keane points out that 15,000 civilians have been killed in 2026, up 55% from 2025. Last week alone: 100 killed, 20 of them children.
The bottom line: “It starts with Putin, because he has been the one who said no every single time.”

This morning, a Russian Shahed drone hit an educational institution in central Rivne. There are casualties. All emergency services are at the scene.
Russian forces have been attacking Ukraine almost continuously since the early hours. Residential buildings, businesses and infrastructure have been hit in the cities of Kharkiv, Kyiv and Zaporizhzhia, as well as in the Rivne, Vinnytsia, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Lviv and Donetsk regions.
Deaths and injuries have been reported. Homes were destroyed, and industrial and agricultural businesses, warehouses and railway infrastructure were damaged. Search and rescue operations as well as emergency response are under way at the sites.

The diplomatic coordination and sequencing have been disastrous. Americans aren’t stupid. The President of the United States announced a ceasefire, and Putin is openly defying it. This is an extraordinary display of contempt toward POTUS, and his negotiating team has put him in the position of being publicly humiliated by Moscow.

This is actually fairly accurate: the EU has paid more to Russia for energy than to Ukraine in aid since 2022. Hard to estimate how much the EU paid for Russian oil since a lot of it comes via roundabouts such as “Indian diesel” but the Trump figure is in the right ballpark.
I’m not sure why so many are intent on perpetuating claims of an intelligence pause that does not exist. There are legitimate reasons for concern over recent developments, but that makes accuracy all the more important.
Amplifying unsubstantiated claims only deepens distrust, fuels anger, and further strains relationships at a time when neither country benefits from more confusion.
