Maslow's hierarchy of needs teaches us that people must have their basic physiological needs met before they can meaningfully concern themselves with higher level needs.
How do you explain the importance of wildlife conservation to the average Nigerian who is hungry, struggling to survive and has little or no understanding of conservation?
Foreign Man Pays Men Attempting to Sell Sea Turtle Along Road Near Eko Hotel, Lagos, and Returns It to the Sea
"Today, I witnessed something that genuinely broke my heart but also restored a little of my faith in humanity.
While leaving Eko Hotel, Lagos State, I saw some men trying to sell a sea turtle in the middle of the road as though it were an ordinary item of trade.
A foreign man stopped and tried everything possible to stop them. He shouted, pleaded and appealed to the people around him, including the uniformed police officers present, to understand that what they were doing was wrong.
Sadly, it seemed his voice was the only one speaking up for a creature that couldn't speak for itself.
However, he refused to give up. He eventually paid the men for the turtle, not to own it but to give it another chance at life.
With the assistance of a police van, the turtle was taken back to the sea and released into its natural habitat."

we're hiring e2b.dev/careers
We hit an annualized run rate of $120M in October.
This year alone, we’re projected to add around $150M in net new revenue. This is an amazing milestone and a testament to the work of the @e2b team.
I’m particularly excited about two things:
1/ This showcases how strong the tailwinds of AGL (Agent-Led Growth) can be.
If you build a tool for agents and optimize your whole growth engine to serve them, you can see tremendous growth. This isn’t something you can just throw money at and buy. Agents don’t decide based on ads. You need a sophisticated growth engine that fine-tunes things like your AEO. I think this is what all future B2B devtool sales will look like. Increasingly, decisions about tool adoption will be made by agents, not humans.
2/ The use cases we’re serving. The majority of our revenue and usage comes from agents running in production. Not RL.
When we started, we had two theses: (i) code is all you need—all agents will use code to complete tasks (which has turned out to be true); and (ii) sandboxes for agentic workloads will be a bigger market than sandboxes for RL workloads, but takeoff will be slower (still playing out).
In the past 30 years, every company has become a software company. In the next 10 years, every company will have become an agent company. We’re building an infrastructure layer to power all these agents.

Being right years ahead of others isn’t nearly as satisfying as people think. Nobody apologizes for treating you like a crazy. They just come back years later, repeating what you told them as if it’s some groundbreaking revelation because they finally heard it from someone else.

Quiet quitting is when you do the work you're paid to do and don't kill yourself going above and beyond for an organisation that will cull you the moment your monetary cost becomes more than your value. Normally down to decisions they make.
Enjoy your life. It's what matters.

I spent my entire day working on this. Here are 300+ universities offering fully funded Master’s scholarships for 2027.
In this drive, you’ll find universities offering:
• Fully funded scholarships without IELTS requirements, where officially permitted.
• Fully funded scholarships accepting Third Class or Second Class Lower degrees, where applicable.
• Fully funded scholarships that accept applicants without extensive work experience.
I put this together to help more people discover Master’s opportunities they can apply for in 2026 - 2027.

The second man to ever walk on the moon came home and ended up selling Cadillacs at a dealership in Beverly Hills.
Buzz Aldrin was 39 when he stepped onto the moon in 1969. About two years later he was sitting in an Air Force doctor's office in San Antonio, telling someone for the first time that he was depressed. By the end of the '70s he'd been through two divorces and a drinking problem that nearly killed him.
If you've ever hit a big goal and felt weirdly flat a week later, you've had a tiny version of what happened to him. And there's a real reason for it.
Back in the '90s a neuroscientist named Wolfram Schultz recorded single dopamine neurons in monkeys while giving them juice. When the juice came out of nowhere, the neurons lit up. Then he started flashing a light right before the juice, and pretty quickly the monkeys figured out what the light meant. The neurons started firing at the light instead. The juice itself, the thing they actually wanted, didn't get a spike anymore. And if the light flashed and no juice showed up, the neurons dropped below normal.
So your brain cashes in on the dream the moment it starts looking real. By the time you actually get there, it already spent the money, and the only thing left that can still surprise you is losing it.
That's the anxiety this guy is talking about, the one about making it and becoming somebody, and every one of us is walking around with that wiring.
Jim Carrey learned this the hard way. He was the first actor Hollywood ever paid $20 million for one movie, and in 2005 he told a reporter he wished everybody could get rich and famous and get everything they ever dreamed of, just so they could see it's not the answer.
Honestly, the oldest version of this video is in the Bible. Ecclesiastes is written as a king in Jerusalem looking back on his life. He built houses, planted vineyards, dug pools and stacked up silver and gold, and then he called all of it hevel. He uses that word 38 times. It means vapor, like your breath on a cold morning that's gone in a second. Most English Bibles just say "vanity."
My favorite part comes in chapter 9. He tells you to eat your bread with joy, and a few verses later he says "whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might." The guy who called everything vapor still told you to go all in.
Aldrin got sober in 1978 and spent the decades after that trying to get people to Mars, chasing the next big thing without needing it to make him somebody.

Witnessing a Pakistani and a Nigerian fight over who should protect the homeland of White British people was not on my bucket list for 2026.
Shabana has made a serious mistake surrendering to Labour MPs. So I’m putting people on notice - when we get into government we will scrap this weak policy.
Immigration is too high. Labour are making a bad situation much, much worse.
The Conservative Party is under new management. I accept this problem started under a previous Conservative govt. Many of those in that Cabinet have gone to Reform where they belong.
And I’ve got a proper plan to fix it👇
